:T good dead and all that but I do think a lot of people forget about time/effort/petrol etc not just us lot but the recipients also
I have had well get me as much as you can if its free/5p each. They forget it may have to be bought 4 glitchy items at a time with 8 fillers etc etc etc.
So apart from a few people who I know can follow simple instructions  I dont even bother saying anything unless they are RTC so they can not get it wrong :rotfl:

I must admit I'm already getting a little frustrated with my (adult) children who tease me mercilessly about my attempts to shop the Elite way and refuse to try it themselves, yet they seem to think that anything I've managed to get on glitches (e.g. burgers, pork chops, pop and wine) is so cheap (and easily procured) I will be happy to give lots to them.

Obviously I am very happy and willing to share things with family and friends and I'd love to be in a position where I have more than we want/need so can give loads away. However, they just don't get it that the main reason I'm taking all this time and effort is to try and cut down on our shopping bill and save money.

For example, I managed to get 18 lots of burgers (which from memory I think ended up costing me about £1.50 per pack + fillers, time, effort, petrol etc) and I intended to use these for mince dishes over the next couple of months. However, I've already donated more than half of them to my children when they've said things like, "Mum, you know those cheap burgers you've got in the freezer, please can we have some for a BBQ we're going to?" They think that because I've paid so little for them they are 'freebies'. I know my children would never have asked me for food if they thought I'd paid full price for it and I'd feel really mean if I refused when they (and I) know I've paid so little for them!

I've suddenly realised that, having given half of them away, those £1.50 per pack burgers I sweated blood and tears over (not to mention risking trouting) have actually cost me double that now (albeit I've had the pleasure of giving great meat to my children too)! I guess the lesson is for me to keep shtumm  regarding my glitched bargains and then, when I do give them away, everyone will be overwhelmed by my generosity! :D:D:D:D

Thanks for asking. Just back from my last visit to hospital as she comes home tommorow afternoon. Her hospital bed was delivered last week and i got new bedding today for it. She is worried about coming home but her mobility is getting better. However her legs are really swollen and she has put on 8kg in 4 weeks. One of the nurses implied it was us taking in chocs and biccies but she hasnt eaten any of them. But she is very overweight ( now 15.7stones) so it adds to her problems.
Feeling a bit nervous about her return and I have said I will stay tommorow so that I can see what the carers do now and cause she is worried. We are going to look about a live in carer or night cover in addition to her 3 visits a day from the agency. Also have to try to sort out power of attorney this week.

On the upside 60th bday next week and on 29th start my new job. Having a vintage t party on 4th for my bday as my son and sister not here till then.

BTW I dont smoke, drink or gamble, I have Sky TV and am finally getting on top of my bills mainly thanks to you all.

Hope all goes well tomorrow rose :)

I went to see my nephew yesterday. His mum has never worked a day in her life. She uses my nephew as an excuse not to work, she might get a phone call from the school, blah blah.

She has a 50 inch tv, top range stereo and surround sound, speakers, x-box, play station and god knows what else. She runs 3 mobile phones, all of them on a blackberry, Nokia summat or other and another smartphone

Yet here's me, on my modest salary, living "comfortably" and still watching every penny I spend. What the hell is wrong with the system where they can have all that but eating isn't the top priority

I must say I can't wait to get back to work and come off the carer's allowance and council tax benefit. I am not going to be much better off working but at least I will be looking after myself. Also my brothers and sisters are quite sniffy about me having claimed the carer;s allowance for the last few years. However none of them wanted to do the caring. As to the new Universal Credit my DD's bf wrote most of the software for it and said it is going to be a shambles.
I have 2 ex neighbours with 3 and 4 kids each and both of them disposed of their hubbies over the last few years and have free houses, new furniture, expensive puppies and one of them wrote on fb yesterday asking where she could book a last minute holiday for her and the 3 kids!! I know one of them is a mobile hairdresser and I am certain she does not declare her income. I must also stop now as I am sounding like a Daily Mail reader ( which I am ashamed to say I am )

I am totally with you on that one QOC. I don't mean to be awful to people on benefits. I am sure almost all of them are genuinely in need and spend their money wisely.

Anyway, I must stop gobbing away or you guys will think I am Katie Hopkins in disguise. And I have work tomorrow so I must be sympathetic and empathetic and lovely and caring and calm etc etc. ;););)

    it's called a dependency culture.

At times everyone gets annoyed.... just about everyone in our block doesn t work. And the woman across the road keeps upgrading her car.

then i go to work with guys on minimum wage trying to survive, in London.

Stayed up to watch Katie the other week, she was very funny. You

My kids also acquire lots... DS2 said that he thought the whole point was to gorge on the purchases!

You checked off 49 out of 65 on this list!

You hate people. It’s true. But you haven’t totally given up faith in humanity and that’s impressive. You still have a little more hate left in you to give. Treasure that hate and save it for a special occasion.

I can see exactly where you are coming from. Nobody probably knows I glitch apart from my OH who doesn't really comment and doesn't know what glitches I get, and my 7 year old DD's who just think like today I was totally mad buying over 20 bottles of juice and laugh at me and say "mam" a lot and what are you doing, " what if somebody see's us" my girls are funny....

I have tried to explain to friends and family before and honestly nobody is interested even when I have given stuff away. Obviously not everyone wants to save money on shopping bills.

That's the only reason why I do it too to save money, I haven't bought toothpaste for over 2 years and I am getting a little nervous as I only have 7 tubes left!!!!! And it's all thanks to the lovely people on this site. A massive thank you from me. Xxxx
We're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits. :)
