yes me too :D I'll stick another tin of something on just to make certain :p

I came across everyday value tin of potatoes the other day (T's) and flung them into the basket as they were 15p(?). I had no intention of eating them but I looked at the tin this morning and found there is hardly any calories in the whole tin so should maybe be ok for my DD who is following the Slimming world programme. Hope so at that price!!

    Anyone tried these?

I remember in the 90's when nothing opened on a Sunday. The towns were lovely and quiet, but I suppose times have moved on.

In the region in Spain that I go to nothing opens after 2pm on Saturday and doesn't reopen until Monday 8am.
Sunday is still a lovely family day when they all eat, DRINK and play together.
Its just like going back in time :)

On the ss I always look at how fast the till roll is coming out. If it is quick I know the pp is printing if it is slow I know I have messed up. :o

Haven't tried them myself but apparently they are delicious sliced and fried up in the frying pan for breakfast. The SW girls fry them in Frylight.

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!

I have earnt my entry to Heaven today... we thought in for a penny, in for a pound, so as we were having 3 parents for a meal, we (strangely) invited the single (well the ones not invited for meals with family) oldies from the close for Easter dinner.... If I get any bright ideas to repeat this for Christmas .... shoot me!!

    I am exhausted

    That was very kind:beer:

I've been to parts of Germany where everyting shuts down at noon on Saturday. A lot of their neighbouring countries have longer shopping hours.

Had a great time in Germany especially in Munich. There's a sweet spot around the Alps and up the Rhine where you get a mix of Germanic efficiency and Catholic joie-de-vivre. Brilliant food and drink.

Was looking through BBC iplayer and saw a programme called Parking Mad. The thumbnail advertising the show is a picture of a guy I used to work for (I was fresh out of uni and jobless, it was one of those get into work 'schemes') when he was developing a talent agency. Whilst running a parking fine company. Yep. Obviously it didn't go anywhere.

He's a horrible bully and fired me because I wouldn't let him push me around and belittle me. Just watched some of the programme and wish he wasn't getting any exposure at all. Vile little man. The only time I've ever been fired. In the end the best thing that could have happened to me but still hate him with a passion :/
I was lucky enough to be a City Warden for Aberdeen Council, it's there way of saving money by combining traffic wardens, environment officers (litter finers) & community safety all into one. This might be a bit controversial & might infuriate some, but parking fines are a necessity not a liberty. Nobody likes traffic jams & by preventing people parking in stupid places it cuts down an amazing amount of nuisance parking people. It's estimated that without restrictive parking journeys to work would take (on average) 5.6 times longer. There are councils that take the P out of it & they give the parking police a bad name, however there are some that do it to help people. I don't do this anymore & since living in Glasgow I've seen some really stupid examples of people taking the P. Sorry I've hijacked your post & I know you wasn't implying that they are all money grabbers but I've seen the programme & it is crazy the things they get away with
