Any payment detained by Santander for a security check will be usually held for 16 hours regardless of what CS may or may not tell you. It goes into an automated process before being manually accepted for forwarding.

If it's the first payment to Lloyds it will get held. If it's an abnormally high payment for your account it may get held. Either way once the funds have been stopped for check it cannot be sped up as Santander don't permit intervention, however some other banks do.

If it's not there later then you will have cause for complaint, assuming all account details are incorrect. You'd be surprised just how many people enter wrong sort/account numbers when transferring funds.
