Hi,
We are considering trying to sell our house privately and would like to try(?) to prepare some floor plans.
Pls can anyone advise how we should best go about this and whether there is any easy to use free software that could help us?
Many thx in advance.

How would you be marketing your house as I believe you can't get a listing on rightmove or zoopla unless you are a registered estate agent?0 -
If you have a tablet there are a few which utilise the camera function - Magicplan being one for ipad- just put the on screen cursor into the corner of the room, take a photo and it draws the plan. You then add doors, windows, stairs etc.0

You can use Google Sketchup to make a floor plan
or just draw one with lines and boxes in MS Word / Powerpoint / Openoffice / Etc.

Got an iPhone? There's a free app called Roomplan that can create a floorplan for you.

I'm sure MS Visio has an architecture template for making floorplans0
-
Visio isn't exactly free though, is it.0
-
Nope, but it's not uncommon (or at least i've always had it...) to have it, possibly on a 'work' computer
Sketch-up is cool though. I made a 3D model of our new home (before we'd even completed) to work out what furniture we could fit and would look good.
Since the OP will be saving £££££ on an estate agent it's not crazy to think they might want to invest in some software0 -
Or you can pay someone to produce a plan from a sketch, prices look to start from about £15.

i created my floorplan on Visio. Considering the hassle i should have sucked up my EA's £25 charge for the floorplan! I think it was mainly problematic becausebi very rarely use Visio. Would have loved an iPad app to do it!0 -
ten minutes on powerpoint, and then save as PDF0
