Divadee - Could we have a sticky of what ebay scams to look out for? or what to do if...? (royal mail lost item comes back for eg.)
as their are so many scams that keep coming up and so many what ifs a sticky on all the subjects would literally mean the first page of the board would be all sticky's. Martin has asked that they are kept down to a minimum, so hence no other stickys at the moment. Sorry

    Hi
so they sent it to belfast sorting depot where all uncollected mail goes and they returned it to me

Just a note. In the past the Post Office would send undelivered mail to their sorting Depot in Belfast, where every effort was made to get it back to the sender. ie: opened to look for return address.
Perhaps happening already, but definitely during 2005, mail that does not have sender's address on the outside will no longer be returned.

Uh Oh, egg on my face:o. When I read about this, I presumed it meant all post.
    The news release clearly says:
"The Post Office’s Return Letter Centre is being closed down and undeliverable franked mail will not be returned unless the return address is on the outside of the envelope"

JMHO- I would keep the money and resell the items. (in fact its happened to me in the past and I kept the money)

Oh, you may as well keep it, and don't feel bad.
After all it's hardly your fault the stamps fell off, it's not as if you stuck them on there yourself.
I had to make a refund this week, as one of my parcels went astray too - is the procedure complicated?

I wasn't going to bother, as it wasn't a great deal of money, but maybe now I will. I put the return address on the rear though, so I'm surprised it hasn't found it's way back to me.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

the royal mail dont count items as lost untill after 15 working days, after this you fill in the form from the post office, send it to them with proof of posting and proof of how much the item was worth etc wait a week or so and the refund cheque appears. quite easy and simple process, that was my experiance anyway. It did however take months for the item to be returned!
I would always claim from royal mail for any lost post, why should you be out of pocket.

Royal mail/parcelfoce all the same people seem to be doing this often by reading on here losing stuff,i sent a box overseas paid £56 to send it with tracking and they still lost it as of now they dont know where it is and it was sent on the 12th and was 3 days delievery.
I will not be using them again and will be claiming my postage back and for lost item which i am mad about as its a one off item, hard to find and it makes me mad i paid this amount with tracking and the still lost it.
    DO NOT USE PARCELFORCE.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
