On my stairs which are very steep- too steep for vacuum- I use a wooden handled doofer with a metal blade-can't find it's name- it looks like a hacksaw blade. (It was a commercial product not a home made job!!) that's pretty efficient at removing hairs.
On furniture...hopefully not many hairs, but it happens! I have a rubber bladed brush. Again it is fairly efficient.. but what a tedious job!!
Nothing much works on the sharp hairs which have wheedled their way in!
Hey, I can send you a link to my houndy girl. Would you like to see her???Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Ugh..suffering here too shar pei blow their coat and look like moth eaten old coats while doing it.It also makes our lives an itchy misery as shar pei translates as sand skin and boy does it irritate you!! A lot of people develop rashes just by touching one and when she moults they're like little needles, irritatingly itchy little needles at that!
I also need a new hoover and fainted at the price of a new dyson any recommendations for a cheapo one been looking at bagless hoovers and vax's thanks0 -

Just needs adapting to a full body suit for dogs...I could be onto a winner here
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
I have a Dyson digital stick which is great at sucking up hair/dust. (easy to grab n vac)
Though puss doesn't realise it's their mess. (and scatters in fright!!)
I try to brush regularly but you know what cats are like they have to be in the mood!0 -

How cute:One contented dog! of course it is worth all that effort!
My girl is not allowed on the settee and there are barricades in place (boxes, shopping bags etc) but she is allowed upstairs on the bed. She's there now as one of her downstair beds has been dismantled and the duvets drying. She's gone off in a huff! However that doesn't mean she has rejected comfort!!!
