Virgin mobile - any good?

Looking at getting out of my t mobile contract. Because my parents are with Virgin, it would save me around £10 a month and includes insurance. I currently pay £21.99 a month for my phone plus insurance. Virgin contracts include free insurance and they have a much better selection of phones.

But are they any good?

Looking at:
Moto G
Samsung s3 / s3 mini
Sony Experia SP
Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.25

I've got tho moto g and am very pleased with it.

Still to get a tariff (using just Wi-Fi at the mo) and split between virgin, who I use for payg non-data and 3. May depend on your usage and coverage in your area.

Can you not get a 30 day sim only plan sim, use it for 30 days (or less if you like) and see what the network is like and then decide.
  • I used to be on virgin and then switched for an Iphone but I like virgin thinking I may go back to them as I had no problem with them.

If you're happy with the T-mobile signal then go for it; it's on the same network so you shouldn't notice any difference. I personally think EE has the best, most reliable network.

    They should do.

I decided this afternoon and got the 3 PAYG 3-2-1 SIM to see what my usage per month is on phone / text / data. Will retain my existing phone mobile number on my other phone for the time being, before making a final decision and porting the number across if desired.

Thanks. But if I do that, I'd either have to get my phone unlocked or buy a new phone.

    The signal is generally fine.
