Predicting how much an item will sell for

Thanks Soolin, what you say does make alot of sense.
Just a thought, I know alot of people have had problems where they have had a legitimate reason to claim their money back thru paypal but the seller has taken the money from their paypal account.
So what would happen if someone did pay thru paypal then tried to get their money back if the money was no longer in my paypal account?
Firstly a scammer is likely to collect the item and then slam in a claim within 24-36 hours of collection which would mean your paypal payment was still en route to your bank account and would be stopped and returned to the buyer.
If they delayed the claim then paypal would hold any future monies you receive and if no money was paid into your account then they would chase you for the money, and even set a debt colelction agency on you. Trying to beat paypal like this is worse than playing russian roulette, all that will happen is that you'll spend months in legal wranglings and unpleasant situations trying to reason with paypal when you were in breach of the terms and conditions that you signed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just to (hopefully) conclude the story, my item went for £365 and the winning bidder has said they will pay cash on collection. :j
Thanks for all your advice, and lessons have been learned!0 -

Ok well I THINK that now the item is sold that its ok to say what it was, and thanks to all of the PM's I've had from you curious peeps!
It was... an arcade machine. It was a driving game with a big (vibrating) seat and had a steering wheel and footpedals etc.
Hope that puts a stop to any of you lying awake at 3am trying to figure it out!!:rotfl:0 -
            Aww, thanks poppycat!0
