Small Company Boss

Wow, are you me? I was in your situation a month ago and posted on here about it. Small company and a boss with no management or social skills who made my life an utter misery.
I imagine you feel like you're trapped in a vicious circle? He's unnecessarily picky, never happy unless he's putting you down about stupid little things that don't even matter? You feel like you're stuck because the thought of moving on is terrifying and you'll need a reference from the twit making your life a misery?
Just go for it. Believe me, just go for it. Get your contract and see what your options are. Keep a proper record of all the times he's been unnecessarily horrible and how it's getting you down. Keep good records of the experience you've had and the things you can do. Look everywhere for jobs. I applied for two I had no expectations of being considered for and ended up getting the jobs. Not bad when I was regularly being told I was an embarrassing disaster.
I posted on here about how trapped I felt and people gave me the courage to go for it. To Get Out. and I have. You have to do the same because he isn't going to change and nobody is going to help you

Did you report your previous boss?
Just confronted him about what he said on Friday and he basically denied it0 -

PS - my place is kinda weird too! I don't know whether to laugh or to cry, it's almost like you have to earn respect to have all the functions to been able to do your job! yeah not kidding at the moment I don't have access to all the buttons on the system because that is the way it is... v embarrassing someone is on a right old power trip, it's the customers I feel sorriest for, all because I replaced someone that had been 'naughty' incidentally this was the lad they wanted to employ over myself once before, my response will be we're not in the film ANNIE, love! if anything comes of that
I really don;t understand this post.0 -
OP, you are never going to change the boss and it will only go one of two ways:
You will leave and take them to a tribunal and get a new job
You will leave and get a job.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Tried standing up for myself was told to not speak to him like that. Just because I said I cannot change things that I've printed off.
I would have asked him to show me how I could change things that have already been printed off or even better, how he would have done things to avoid this problem? ... He obviously has the answer, after all ?
there is a line you must not cross but there is also a line you are entitled to draw about how you are treated .. if your boss crosses that line , he/she could find themselves in serious trouble..

Nobody is asking you to actually, it's just a share of my experience showing how boss might appear not always dictated by oneself or indeed their partner's treatment, so more in 'consolation' to OP nothing else, alright by you! Sexism in workplace does happen sorry if you have never known it happen
I also once had someone tell me I needed to get more into it - appreciate they only had my best interests at heart to ie. keeping hold of a job!!0 -

I'm probably being fascetious, but I really don;t understand this post either.
I really can't see what point you're trying to make.
Well, it appears you are talking about sexism in the workplace, but I genuinely did not have a clue that this is what you meant by your first post.0
