Im learning to drive and have a corsa at home to practise in - I did the money saving pound shop L Plates but they keep coming off. A quick shufty round the internet shops seems to have the same results in reviews. OH uses the car so do not want to permanently zip chord to front grill.

Anyone recommend magnetic L Plates that stay on? or any hints or tip to keeping them on?

Thanks in advance

When i was looking for one for the OH, I went in halford and the lady who served me said that the magnetic ones always fall off.

The best temporary one she recommended was the windscreen film ones, they worked well for me.

When teaching the Mrs to drive the magnetic ones from Halfords stayed on just fine as long as you made sure the surface was clean and dry.

The only problem we had was when we switched car and found the whole of the tail of the new car inc the boot lid was plastic and so neither the L plates nor the GB thing stuck at all

Cheap roll of masking tape, it's only on there an hour.
  • I had the inside window sticker ones, worked a treat!

exactly my experience, a few years back. Initially used magnetic then inside window ones. After the front magnetic one had come flying into the road

My L plates were taped on. I had to get out and stick one back in place after it fell off in the middle of my driving test! :)

I remember the only ones you could trust to actually stay on were ones you put inside the car. I ended up resorting to just sticking them to the window with tape.

When my son was learning we always had magnetic ones and they never came off, I think they were from Asda, we just made sure they were placed on the flattest area possible on the bonnet and boot, they stayed on when using dual carriage ways.
