Three mobile 30 day line rental fee after contract ended

Can Three mobile charge me £41 after my contract has ended because I didn't give them 30 days notice?

I used my PAC code as soon as I got it as I was told that I had to use it within 30 days which i remember them saying, but I spoke to them at least 7 times before I finally decided to leave Three and I'm usually a pretty savvy person that I'm sure I would have questioned or remembered if they told me about the 30 day line rental fee if you don't give a months notice they still charge you a months bill.

I can remember asking what happens to my account what do i have to pay at one point the week before I left where all i was told was that the last bill will be sent to me and there was nothing I needed to do. They kept telling me that on a certain date I was told it was £41 however I then pointed out to them that i couldn't have been told that as the bill i have in my hand was generated aftr that. She apologised and said she didnt know why she said that, but i can see on another date you were told about the 30 day line rental fee.

Now do you think there might be a bit of BS in the air?
I can pay £10 to get a copy of the phone calls to see if I really was told that.
But 1: I don't want to give them another £10 especially as I got a £20 bank charge for this bill as I wasn't expecting it i didn't have the correct funds in the account so this phone bill has already cost me like £60
and 2: even if they did lie they keep telling me its in my T&C's so will i have a leg to stand on to get the money back anyway?

My contract ended 11 days before I used my PAC code and changed so I said i would pay the 11 days worth of usage i used but they still refused to my complaint even after speaking to the manager.

Your contract doesn't end, merely reaches the minimum term. It is still ongoing and 30 days notice is required to cancel. Even if you leave sooner, you still owe 30 days from the date you request the PAC code.

Whether or not it is worth fighting for some compensation towards the £20 bank charge due to being misinformed is up to you.

Did you think all phone contracts stopped at midnight at the end of the stated term? As noted earlier, it is a minimum term, so not a fixed term contract. If you want it to end, you tell them - and advise 30 days before the minimum term date expires, this means you can terminate without penalty on the anniversary.

If you don't - then you pay additionally for the period of notice over and above the minimum term. To be fair, they do explain all this in their T&C's.

PAC use complicates things - your notice period expired without transfer so they continued service and you carry on as before. IF you use a PAC, the time to move is on day 27-8 of the notice period. This minimises your exposure to paying for service not received.

They can charge you from the date you use the PAC to either the end of 30 days notice period (taken from the date you request the PAC), or if you are still in the minimum term then to the date your minimum term ends. Whichever of those is the greater.

As your minimum term was up before you used the PAC then they are entitled to charge you difference until the end of 30 days from when you requested the PAC. Assuming you used the PAC within a couple of days of getting it (which is what you seem to be suggesting) then that would be about 28 days or so worth of charges. If your monthly repayments are over £41 then that would be about right and there is nothing you can do about it. If however you normally pay about £20 a month then something is not right and they are ripping you off.
