Next time they are out say I see you're really interested in my summer house are you planning one? If so I can give you the contact details of my builders.
If that fails and they continue to stare after the summer house is build and it really worries you I would build a 6ft fence just a few inches into my garden. Could you erect a trellis and grow something spikey up it to deter the other onlooker?0 -

If the situation is :
fence -> driveway -> garden you could also consider planting something along the garden side of our driveway - that way, the neighbours would no longer have a clear view of your garden, and you would not have to stare at your cars when you were in the garden.
You can put up a fence on your side of the boundary (ie. in front of the chain link fence, but it might be better to speak to the neighbours to say that you would like to have something a little more sturdy, and see whether they would be interested in either sharing the cost of putting up something more solid to replace the chain link fence, or alternatively, agreeing to you replacing the chain link fence rather than building a new fence in front of it.
Depending on the width of the driveway, you could also have planters along the side of our driveway plant things to create a bit of a screen. Or put a trellis up on your side of the fence. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Im well aware of the problems neighbours cause, but I am talking about my problem here, and to me it is a big problem. I do not like people peering into my garden, it is supposed to be a place of privacy and seclusion, and that is not the case here.
Then move to somewhere with a bigger garden not bordered by other people2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
Are you friendly with them at all? I'm all for erecting a taller fence but it might create a mini war as there's nowt as queer as folk.
Our ex-neighbour was extremely nosy. I remember within a week of them moving in, I am sat on my sofa when something catches my eye. The woman of the couple pulled herself up our 6 foot fence and then performed some sort of acrobatic move where half or her body was over it so she could stare directly through our window into the living room. She stayed there for a good 10 seconds with me staring back at her, before she went and got her partner and they both did the same thing. This happened often, and when me and OH were out in the garden they often totally by concidence (although it's the only time they ever came out) also came out and stood by the fence trying to listen in to us talk.
Absolutely bizarre.0 -

Im just on the "nodding and how do you terms" ... I don't like to get too friendly with neighbours, but im always polite. The mini war scenario is one that worries me, and is why I havn't done anything as yet, but at some point, the chain link fence is definitely going to have to change as it sides onto our Summerhouse.0 -

!!!!!! me that's well creepy. Did you do anything about it?0 -
Invite them round to give you a free helping hand... they'll soon tire of it. They're probably jealous and want their own Man Shed but the missus won't let them.0
