As you have said, it will probably stop when the work is finished, so can't you put up with it for a while and even try to be friendly?

I think you should count yourself lucky that that being nosey is the worst thing you can say about your neighbours. I think you should read some of the threads on here about the problems other people have with anti-social neighbours and be grateful that yours aren't like that.

Metroman, I think it was extremely constructive.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

If you've only got a 5' chain link fence between you and a neighbour, you can't really expect privacy in your garden!

There's nothing to stop you putting up a new 2m fence in your garden.

The chain link fence is my neighbours fence .. Am I within my rights to put a 2m solid wood fence in front of it?

Just ignore them. You can't change their behaviour, but you can modify your response.

Im well aware of the problems neighbours cause, but I am talking about my problem here, and to me it is a big problem. I do not like people peering into my garden, it is supposed to be a place of privacy and seclusion, and that is not the case here.

How tall do you want your fences to be, in order to prevent your neighbours from looking into your garden from their upstairs windows?

Seriously, I think you're massively over-reacting here. Next time you see them, go over for a nice friendly chat with them.

If it's at the bottom of the garden where does the driveway come in? I can't picture it.

We have a long garden and 4 properties lie sideways to it. On the neighbours side of our garden is a long driveway down to the bottom of our garden where we can put vehicles.

I don't want to be out in my garden thinking there are people looking over the fence ... They shouldn't be doing it! I like my privacy, and i'm sure I can't be unusual in that respect.

They are not making any attempt to look at me or talk to me, they are just staring!

Why don't you speak to them yourself in a friendly manner and tell them that you would prefer if they bring you a cup of tea/coffee when they come to stare you. Seriously, try speaking to them in a friendly manner and you might get it resolved.
  • Maybe you should buy them each a copy of fifty sheds of grey :rotfl:

If they are men they are probably drooling over and are green with envy at what they could do with your shed (sorry 'summerhouse')

I'm sure it will be a ten day wonder and that things will go back to normal after the excitement of it all.

Count yourself lucky if that's all you have to worry about.

But that's the problem... you thinking about it. Not that they are doing it. You can't stop them looking at you but you can decide not to be bothered!
