Can I use a cash ISA as a "feeder" to transfer money every few months to a current account? So for example, if I put a sum into the ISA, and every couple of months need a bit more than I get from my pension, transfer a few hundred out of the ISA and not put any back in?

There is no reason why not. You will need an easy access cash ISA. If it is a flexible ISA then you would have the option to replace any sums withdrawn within the same tax year without it affecting your ISA allowance for the year, but this may not be important if you just want to run down the money gradually.

Depending on your total income, you might not need a cash ISA. The best easy access savings rates are slightly higher than easy access cash ISA rates, and you might have a £1,000 or even a £5,000 savings interest allowance. But if you don't have these allowances, an easy access cash ISA will be ok for your requirements.

I know, I use this all the time but for some strange reason, it would not work with the MSE URL - I tried several times. It does work again now.
