Do you have Garmin " ExpressTray.exe" set to automatically start up when you power on your computer?

If so, try disabling it from the list of startup programmes and just load it as and when required via it's desktop shortcut.

Roddydogs, sorry, ignore my previous post - I have just re-read #10.

However as a further suggestion try stopping and disabling "Garmin Update Services" in Windows Component Services>Services (Local) and just launch the programme when you want to use by the desktop shortcut.

Just to update, I think ive got it, read a blog that suggested using CC cleaner (which ive got already-free install great app.) that has a tools-tab that shows start up (I didnt realise this) just click & remove from startup. Seems to have worked. Did get a reply from Garmin which was rubbish.

So did I, but unticking it by using msconfig/startup (post 10) didnt work, but using CC cleaner did, even though it had already been unticked it still showed as "Yes" in CC. Strange
