Hi all,
Can't believe it's been a week since I wrote here - it has been a very busy one, but I need to give myself a slap, because it's too like me to be motivated at first, and then let things slide...must do better!
Thanks all for your comments.
dawnybabes - nice to see you and thanks for the offer; my inital blood test was negative, but I've been told to wait as apparently many are. May need a biopsy but have to keep eating 'as normal' despite the side effects in case I skew the results. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
killerpeaty - unfortunately I have to wait for them to be paid back, in both jobs. One is always at the end of the month, the other is when they get round to it! I have been chasing it up, so hopefully it won't be too long.
julliff - thanks for the nice words. It was Arndale (and the centre). I do like the Trafford Centre as well thogot quite a lot, and although I did overspend (£100!) I have been putting money aside, and it was definitely needed, so no impulse buys.
Otherwise, MSE has been going generally well. Had once 'takeaway' treat to celebrate the news that I have got the funding for a client; should be an extra £1000, although still need to do the work for it, lol. DH also needed a few clothes, but managed to get loads for £50 in primarni and tesco. I was very impressed
Going off now to plan the menu for this week as we're dog sitting, and making tea for a friend on Friday (thinking home made lasagne). I also have a pork and beef roast on the go (purchased courtesy of my lovely dad for all of us, I just have to cook it). I think I'll also check the bank account and see if I can make any further overpayments (not sure if I mentioned the extra £32 and £9 ones I've managed over the past week or so.....hoping they've worked electronically, and if so, there will be a few more 'tilly tidies' going on, that's for sure).
I really hope everyone is getting on well, and I'm looking forward to catching up on diaries. Happy Sunday,

Gib, just having a catch up on your diary. You are a whirlwind of action - and you still find time to cheer others on. I am a totally different person to the one who started my diary a couple of months ago (I was definitely glum!) but now feeling cheered on and cheerful.

Hi 'diary'
Can't believe how quickly time has gone since I was on here last...very naughty of me! In all fairness, I've been unwell and had problems with my mum's health, but I did have a few slips during this time money wise, and therefore I think it's all the more important to stick with the diary and reading on here to keep up motivation during the more difficult times. I hope everyone else is doing ok, and I'll try and do some catch up reading this afternoon.
Unfortunately, I've missed out on about £500 in extra work whilst I have been unwell, and therefore overpayments have only been £100, and spends (mostly convenience foods) have been way too high. I'm hoping I'll get the nod to go back to work this week and although symptoms still exist, I should be able to manage in the short term whilst I wait for further tests. These things are sent to try us hey?
Onwards and upwards anyway - sitting around at home appeals in principle, but it just makes me lazy and fed up after a while, and I can't help but feel I should be working hard now while I (sort of) can lol

Hi Giblet
I pop over here quite often to read diaries & noticed your today. Am going to have a read of it tonight when I get 5 minutes. Looking forward to reading.

Hi Gib, glad to see you back but sorry to hear about you and your mum's health problems. Hope you are both feeling better soon.
I definitely find reading diaries on here helps me with motivation when I'm feeling low. And posting every/almost every day helps me keep my focus too.
At least you have been able to make overpayments and know where the extra spends have been - you'll soon be back on trackMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £105,664.31

Thanks guys
very much appreciated and it's good to be back!
NSD yesterday, but as I'm still off work ill I'm not counting that as much of an achievement! May need to pop out for essentials today, as I don't want to do an online order as I don't NEED enough to make it worthwhile, and would no doubt spend more just to make up the total. I do need to get a prescription, so will rally myself for a trip out to the supermarket (very pathetic!)
I might try and do a meal plan later. We only have a small ish freezer now (I was used to having two, one being a large chest freezer) so I think I'm going to have to be more organised to ensure that things don't go to waste and I'm still making the most of the more expensive ingredients e.g. meat.
Hope everyone has a lovely day xDebt remaining:

Hi Giblet,
Good to see you're back, but sorry to hear about mum and hope you both are recovering. Don't worry about the slight slips on the spending, you'll soon be back on track

Thanks DM - hope you're doing well. Still haven't managed to catch up properly!
Well a couple more NSD's and some 'necessities' bought this week, including some positive choices e.g. a bin for the kitchen that was 1/4 of the price of the one we were originally looking at (had to be a particular size) and a dish drainer for £2. Also refrained from buying any other non-essentials, and we are continuing to plan the house renovations based on doing as much as possible ourselves. When I'm feeling better, this should be back in full swing, but for now I can only really look at the 1/2 painted walls and just be glad that we're finally living here at least!
I'm heading back to work tomorrow with a few reservations as I don't really feel up to it if I'm being honest; however, it could take some time for further investigations / consultations and possible surgery, and I can't be off all that time as it causes as much anxiety that way (and loss of additional income). I'm signed back as partially fit, so I hope my boss will be flexible on the worst days / times. Tomorrow is a test run I guess, but as today has been particularly bad symptoms wise, I am more than a little worried. Fingers crossed!
Right early night for me - sending positive vibes to all
