Old 'fine' - new letter

Hi
I apologise if I am going over old ground here, but I received a letter from VCS on ??/08/12, for a parking fine for ??/07/12. I was the keeper of the car, but was not driving. (Car is now written off so now registered to nobody!) I came onto the MSE Forum and looked for advice, followed the advice at the time, sent letters using the templates from the site. Received sporadic letters, two from VHC, two from Roxburghe 'solicitors'. I have heard nothing for over a year now, and have now received a 'Notice of appointment as debt collectors' from Newlyn. Can I just get advice on what to do with this, as the 'fine' was before the change in the law, so I have not completed the steps following that.
Hope that makes sense!
Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Carry on ignoring as this is a pre October 2012 ticket, which means the keeper cannot be liable. And they have been informed of this by you contacting them. Did you name a driver? We were not advising contacting them back then. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Great, thanks Stroma.
No, did not name anyone, just used the two template letters from MSE. I shall ignore this then, thanks for your help and speedy reply!0 -
Just keep an eye on the mail, vcs do court on very rare occasions, think it was 22 times last year on 5500 invoices issued. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Same advice as I gave this poster and all the others who have posted the same thing in the last fortnight:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4944484
Search this parking forum (NOT the entire MSE forum) for 'Newlyn 2012' as keywords and learn form other threads like yours, we can't keep replying like this to the same old stuff (sorry but we can't!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
