Can't wait to see the new doggie pictures.
Hopefully he'll settle soonEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Oooh yay :j :j I'm hoping you'll post pics
but oops to the laptop charger
No advice re: training I'm afraid - we have cats so wouldn't know. But, my mum and dad's dog sleeps on the landing, rather than being shut in. Could you do that?Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Thanks for popping in everyone! It's lovely to see you all
This is probably my last post before the battery dies and then I will have to figure out how to use OH's laptop with the silly new version of windows on it
New charger lead should arrive tomorrow and only cost £9.99 :T Yes Hbbb, it is the same laptop as last time
I will write more later but need to be quick now. Last night was fantastic! We walked 4 miles yesterday, met lost of people and dogs and he was a star! We spent a load of money in the large green pet shop and bought new cushions for their crates, a massive water bowl and two Kong toys.
He got in his crate of his own accord in the evening and slept there while we watched TV. At bed time we filled the toys with peanut butter and kibble, popped them in their crates and hey presto - a silent night!
Hope the pic works!

Oh he is absolutely gorgeous, Ljaneyr! How the people before you could turn him down is beyond me
Was just about to suggest crates and kongs for a silent night (they were miracles for Ryder when he was a puppy!) Glad he's settling in so well.
Hope the laptop charger turns up tomorrow like expected!Windows 8 isn't too bad... but I personally just click the "desktop" app to make all the swishy boxes go away

Love him, love him! What a star, and so happy looking!
So glad you had a peaceful night and all's going well (apart from doomed lappy)!
Of course you won't want to leave him to go to work now ... I know I wouldn't.

Thanks for stopping by Cinny! OH obviously has that app too as the desktop is looking normal, unlike the last time I tried to use it :wave:

He's totally forgiven for the charger, he was so distressed it was quite upsetting. When we got up in the morning he was frantically trying to be as close as possible to us.
Luckily he's a different dog today!
I was going to say earlier before i ran out of battery that I totally know what you mean about crates being negative for some dogs if used in the wrong way. When we got the first dog I was living at my mum's house so we had two puppies at the same time and it was chaos. Luckily they loved the crates and have loved them ever since. We stopped using it when we moved in here but when I put we set it up on Saturday she hopped straight in and is now ignoring her usual bed!
I would love them to sleep on the landing but unfortunately ours is probably less than a metre square! I also need to know that the little one is safe while the big one settles in if you know what I mean? She is a bit fearful of OTT dogs and has been known to start the odd scrap  At the moment she is tolerating him more than most dogs she meets but she appears to be thinking 'When is he going Mum?' We're confident they'll be a pack soon though as he's so soppy and easy going :smileyhea
I went to the drs earlier and they were perfectly happy in their crates with their kongs when I left and I couldn't hear anything when I got home so hopefully he will be ok when we go out. He's already stopped looking worried if I leave the room or shut a door between any of us

Nice doggieA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

What a handsome chap
How lovely for him to have such a fab new home. I know just how you mean about the looks from your other dog.
