Has anyone else had this problem and did you get through in the end...
What is the problem exactly? i.e. why do you need to speak to EDF? e.g. are you wanting to move to another tariff with them?
They are not as cheap as they once were, and by the sounds of it, you are not happy with their customer support either.

My problem is they said use the dedicated webpage but its always down and when I ring them I don't get an answer as im always on hold. Then I do live chat and they say ive got to use the dedicated page as then itll change over on the 1st May when it should and not before as they cant do it on live chat.
If you can't get through to them then initiate a switch to someone you can. I'm also on an EDF tariff ending this month. I've already started the switch to Ovo, who seem to be winning a lot of new customers presently. Must admit I've never had problems getting through to EDF though, and have just successfully logged in to my account with them. However, their current tariffs just aren't competitive enough for my usage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I am off to Flow energy. Edf i think has missed a trick they must be losing thousands of customers. Should have com in with a better tarriff, Mind you they are one of the so called big 6. Enough said.0

Have you tried one of the switching sites like uSwitch to see what is suggested as the cheapest supplier for you? So long as you input your annual usage in kWh, they're pretty accurate.
I would be surprised if EDF come out as the cheapest, even after you eliminate the ones who repeatedly get bad reviews, but I'm not familiar with all electric tariffs.

I did that a few weeks ago. EDF were £17 a year more but the cheapest one other than that you had to pay £30 to get out of if you wanted to leave before the end of the tarrif. That was the next best cheapest
Edited just to say I spent around 5 to 6 hours over a period of a few days and made sure I was looking at the day and night rates as well as the standing charge as I don't go by the KW I use as that fluctuates. So I used my own meter reading from sept last year to the present day using the rates im on now them compared them to different companies. And yes I did use U switch. Still edf came out nearly the best.. Unless things have changed in the last few weeks. If I get time again I will re do it all again. I just didn't want to leave it too late..0 -
If you want to stay with EDF then you should be able to switch to a new tariff from their "MyAccount". I've just had a look at it and it linked to their "dedicated website", which came up OK. It says you can initiate the switch and it will take effect when your current tariff ends.
Haven't actually input into it as I'm leaving anyway, but it looks like it's working to me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
