Vodafone threatening debt collectors
Can someone help pls. I cancelled a contact for my daughter the first week of January. She had the phone almost 2yrs and I too had one. We had been good loyal customers for ages. I paid the last couple of months of the contract off on my debt card which cost almost £100. I confirmed with the gent at that time that it had closed the contract and that was nothing more to pay and he confirmed that yes that was it. I have now received a bill for £21.93 in April??!! I have tried to call and tell them what I was told and that the phone has been even used for 4 months but they will not listen. They have now sent a very threatening letter saying debt collector of bad credit etc. what should I do ????

How many contracts did you have - one or two?
How many have you cancelled?
When the min term(s) expired?
What was "almost £100" paid for and when?
Have you received the final bill(s)?
If the 'gent' really assured you that there was no anything more to pay, then demand the call recording to be found and listened. Follow their internal complains procedure or (better) contact their web reps as they advise in this thread: Vodafone complaints
Don't waste time on phone calls as their telephone CS is utterly helpless and useless.0 -
Hi Lgwilt,
Thanks for making me aware of this.
As suggested by grumbler, could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here so I can take a closer look at things for you?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me, quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line.
Once sent, you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Post back with this and I’ll check I've received it.
Kind regards,
