what companies offer standalone broadband?

hey, im looking to get an unlimited broadband provider with no line rental, what are my options for this? i think virgin are the only big company to offer it, but have heard they aren't the most reliable.
any help would be much appreciated

    Virgin own cable if your residence has it .
    BT supplied landline require payment no matter the ISP .
