Moving house - Vm contract

We are in a bb/phone contract with vm until November 2014. Moving house and vm don't cover the area we are moving to. They are saying we need to pay a cancellation fee to get out of the contract (£130).
Anyone had any success in fighting this/finding an alternative?
Apparently if i can refer a friend who signs up i can have £50 credit on the bill and if I sign up to mobile another £30 - I just want to leave not commit anyone else!!

Its a contract you agreed to so you pay the balance of the contract .0

I thought they limited the costs for early termination. At over £20 per month of the remaining term it sounds like close to full whack.

kwikbreaks, many thanks for that link, makes for interesting reading. I will do some more digging into that information - we pay £25 a month now so seems we are paying too much on cancellation.
I know we are in contract but tbh didn't even think that they wouldn't cover the area we are moving to and since we would happily have moved the service (I rang to arrange housemove and then found out) but they can't provide the service I think charging the full cancellation is not great customer service.0 -
But you are contracted at the current address only. VM only cover about 60% of UK homes. This question is asked several times a week, but the answer does not change. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
