Upgrading my contract
Hi all,
After calling T-mobile directly I'm totally confused, so I've come to the forum for advice!
Basically, my Samsung S2 24 month deal is almost up, and I want to upgrade to the Samsung S4 black.
I used the MSE calculator for the best possible deal and it comes out with £164.99 upfront with £11.99 a month from MobilePhonesDirect for 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data. Tmobile wouldn't match this deal directly.
I'm wondering what happens if I buy this deal from MobilePhonesDirect and then want to keep my existing mobile phone number but have it for the new account.
On the phone the T mobile person said that doing this within the same company is very difficult - but it sounded like a sales technique.
Any advice appreciated!

Unless you upgrade via MPD, not buy a new contract, keeping your number will be difficult. Generally the only way to do this is to port it in two steps via another network PAYG sim. However, I remember reading that EE restrict this by not allowing to port the number back until after a certain number of months (6?). Don't take my word for this.0

What is MPD?
I'm not sure what the best option is in this case. It'd be a real hassle to change my mobile number so I'd rather not do that ...0 -

Thanks. Hmm, there must be a way around this! It seems crazy that you can get better deals coming to a network 'fresh', as opposed to renewing when you have already had a two year contract with them!0

Crazy?! On what planet do you live?
I think it's a common business model for most UK companies.
Loyalty costs nothing. Millions are being spent on introductory offers to attract new customers.0 -
I live on this planet (FYI). But fair enough, you're probably right. Anyway, it's a bit irksome ... I don't know what to do.0
