Second Adult rebate (council tax)

Hi, I have 2 adults living with me who are on benefits (jsa) and i was getting 25 percent discount on my council tax bill.
But now council have decided to reduce that to only 18.75 percent on my bill with no explanation what so ever.
Does any body know if it's because of the benefit changes which have been happening recently and now they ask those who are on benefits to pay there 25% share of the bill.
I have tried calling council and sending email but they asked me to call that number or this number and i thought i would ask on here before wasting any more money on phone calls.

Each council is different as they can now make up their own policy on council tax. Some offer no discount at all.0

there online calculator says i can still get 25% discount.0

Do you get help yourself under the council tax reduction scheme? Or do you just get a single person discount (which you are no longer entitled to?)0 -

This is wrong as Council Tax Benefit was scrapped and each local authority runs their own scheme. Most local authorities scrapped 2AR for working age claimants. Because each scheme is different you would need to speak to your local council for advice. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

I don't think it's wrong HBO - the council in question may well have maintained 2AR as my Council has in Year 2.
OP - really the only people who can advise are your own Council.
If they did make changes to the scheme, there should have been consulation but the website may not have been updated this early into the new financial year.I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

And i have not said i get single person discount. It was called 2nd Adult Rebate and it was 25%0 -
Afzaal - you do receive some help - the way that it is calculated is based on the income of your non deps but the liability for Ctax is yours and you are the named 'claimant' and therefore you are in receipt of some help by way of Council Tax Reduction.
If you want to PM me the name of your council, I will see if I can find out what the new 2014/15 CT scheme is for you?I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

Also i never had to tell them about my savings(i believe it doesnt matter even if i have over 16k)
I have sent you pm regarding council name.0 -
