No problems here at all with the upgrade. Have seen no difference in battery use or responsiveness

That seems unusual. Android Kit Kat should actually provide performance improvements, as it is a lighter OS in terms of resource use and management. It seems obvious, but have you tried a full factory reset?

no I haven't as I do not want to lose everything off my phone:-(

also does anyone know if exchange services in the battery usage is running about 38% on their phone, seems awfully high.

also, not sure how I have switched it off, but on SMS my phone used to tell me I was to be charged for texting certain numbers, like competition numbers 5792 etc, now doesn't, anyone know where I switch this back on?

    thanks

When did you receive the update?

Does your phone have operator branding on the software?

I would recalibrate the battery -
    Switch off the handset.
    Remove Battery
Hold the power button down, (this removes any remaining charge within the phone).
    Put the battery back on
    Switch phone on.

The phone should now have recalibrated the battery.

If that doesnt work, check in your settings, your account is backed up with google servers. And do a factory reset.
When you put the google account details back in, (after its restarted and asks you for them), it should get all your contacts/apps back and re-install them.

I would only do that later though, as a last resort.

Above is false as battery recalibrates itself over a weeks or so of use .
Wiping battery stats or carrying out the above does nothing .
    See web / google docs
