How do you know which opticians it is?

Think you're reading too much into that, Jackie is speaking in quite general terms, comparing her own optician to that in the OP.

Where do they say they know?

Well, if you'd like to know they are www.perfectglasses.co.uk

I had an e-mail again apologising for the inconvenience and saying they would refund the amount I originally paid.

I'm irritated, but I've pointed out twice now their terms and conditions which they just ignore. To be honest I think I would rather just go elsewhere - the people I've used before were fine, just a few pounds more (and no TCB!).

    Thanks for the comments.

What are you searching in my post. I only gave a suggestion, and told about the company rules and regulations.

I'm not searching anything. It wasn't clear from your post whether you were advising on the OPs specific issue with their opticians, or just telling people to read T&Cs in general.

Just like now, it's not very clear whether 'the company rules and regulations' means a specific company, or just companies in general.

As the OP hasn't divulged the Company concerned I like others took the view that Jackie132's comment was a general one rather than asking a pointless question.

    Thanks for the comments.

There's no contact address that I can find on the website and the 0845 prefix phone number is a redirect service. They are actually based in Pune, India as their Linkedin page confirms.

    Hopefully you'll get your refund.

Thanks Coopdiva - I only belatedly thought of checking their origin today - silly me.

I paid via Paypal, hopefully that will help, but who knows.

I've gone with Funkyspec this time - placed an order last night, had an e-mail from them confirming that my prescription was correct as it's rather high and making me aware that the glasses would be thick if I used standard width glass (obviously suggesting I buy the expensive thin lenses!). I've replied saying thick is fine as I only wear them at home (I use contacts mostly) and they've replied saying fine, all ordered, will be 2-3 days longer than usual as the are custom lenses.

    So far so good!

    Thanks for everyone's help.
