ParkingEye terminated from Northumbria Healthcare NHS

Someone is dropping hints over on PePiPoo that ParkingEye's signage at Northumbria's hospitals is being improved today with the aid of hacksaws and that not-so-Smart Parking appears to be moving in.
Out of the frying pan and and into the fire? Or will Dumb actually be getting paid by Northumbria to do real car-park management?

As in the example set in Bristol? I'd not be surprised.
However, it really wouldn't be too much of a surprise that PE are or have been given the Order of the Spanish Archer but... switching to the well known oxymoron?
unSmartParking would be few people's natural choice but they have been repositioning themselves, I suspect, to move away from the more traditional PPC model and into rather more niche markets - the NHS being one. We should not lose sight of the fact that their parent company are heavily into technology and have recently installed substantial numbers of sensors into roadside parking spaces in Westminster backed by a smart phone app. With an eye to their ROI the parent company may want to maintain cashflow but are really after the big bucks of major, public contracts.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
PE are being replaced. Not sure on not so going in though.
The result of the review following the decision to remove PE was thus;
The patient/visitor approaches the barrier and presses button for a ticket.
They are issued with a magnetic strip ticket and park their car.
They then go off to their appointment/visit.
Once they have finished they go to a payment machine and insert the ticket.
The payment machine tells them how much they owe and they pay the required amount either by note/coin, card or contactless, with the payment machine giving change where required; and upon payment validates the ticket.
Exemptions can be dealt with at ward/department level via a validating machine.
The patient/visitor then takes the validated ticket, gets into their car and puts validated ticket into the exit barrier machine, and exits the car park when the barrier lifts.
Exemptions are blue badge holders, plus those with protected characteristics.0 -
In Wales you go to the hospital and park, when you are finished you leave. The whole process is free. The problem is that Vinci and their ilk still lurk trying to get invoices for such heinous crimes of parking not wholly in a bay.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. I wonder how much that has cost the Trust?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
