Well done Goldie, the plan is all coming together due to your super planning!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
You should definitely take it steady for your remaining few days! No point in getting stressed about anything
As for not sitting back and doing nothing - you could always do this mentally and just 'look' like you are busy :rotfl:2014 - £264k - 25 Years - MF March 2039

Careful pacing sounds good! Running yourself ragged doesn't do anything for anyone, least of all you!
That savings amount is **amazing**, Goldie, congratulations! Absolutely huge. And the idea of comparing shopping against last year's average is really clever - there are bound to be ups and downs, if there's an offer on or something, but comparing to an average sorts that out

Thanks Karma, I'm delighted with the amount I've saved this year. Next month I might put a nominal amount in savings, but I'm going to keep what we earn in December in the current account for the time being, until the transitional period is over.
Last night, we went to bed at 10.30pm and didn't wake up until 9.30am this morning.
But I feel much better for all that sleep, so it's done me the power of good. Just need to keep this mood going while I'm at work!
Today I did an online Sainsbury's shop. What with going away for Christmas week, this should take us through to the new year before any major shopping is needed. Therefore, it's likely to be my last Sainsbury's online shop, at least for a while. They have been very reliable, but it's time to test the waters elsewhere. I can always go back to Sains at a later date, if I want to.
The cruise company we sail with kindly sent us a diary each. But we've already bought our 2015 diary, so I put them up for sale on eBay yesterday. One sold within 30 minutes, the other sold in the early hours of this morning. There's a lot of snotty comments on a cruise forum I frequent about the diaries going on eBay, but I think these people haven't learned yet that a lot of small amounts add up to a big amount!
I've used the tumble dryer twice this weekend, as I've got fed up of things being draped over clothes horses and radiators. Next time I'll go back to the horses, but it was nice to get things dry quickly on this occasion.
I've been messing around with figures, preparing a review of the year, and doing plans for next year. It's still a work in progress, but we should be able to survive, and more than that, live quite well ( fingers crossed!)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Good morning!
Apart from the two diaries I only had one other eBay sale, as yet unpaid for, so I'll leave the post run until a little later, in the hope that the buyer pays.
Apart from that, I'll be doing a chicken casserole in the SC and doing houseworky stuff.
As it's a new month, I'll be doing the funding cycle for the new current accounts.
I also want to tidy the freezer, as things are just being slung in there. I feel the need to get things in order.
Apart from that, my plans for the week seem to be the same as this time last week - look at doing the review of the year and a plan for next year, and write out Christmas cards. I'm about half way through the former, and have barely started the latter.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Sounds good to me. How interesting about putting the diaries onto ebay! Good for you
You know I'm dying to look at your review and plan, don't you?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
5 days.... it makes me laugh that I am just so excited for youMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

I think it's endlessly interesting reading about peoples plans. It's a look into their lives, and a chance to get some new ideas. I'm looking forward to reading what everybody is planning for the new year, so don't forget to post your plans !5 days.... it makes me laugh that I am just so excited for you
My feelings are somewhere between excitement, disbelief that it's nearly here and relief that it's happening soon.
I seem to be focusing on our Christmas holiday at the moment, as the bigger picture is too exciting to cope with! :rotfl:
Today I got the first cashback from the 123 account. The sum of £1.68, which I've put in the LXF, as every little helps.
I've been pondering what to include in my signature for next year, and I will probably include 'Additional Funds Generated', for a running total of the cashbacks, vouchers and eBay earnings etc. A bit like KC's pension shortfall figures, but much smaller amounts!
:rotfl:
My anti virus has just deleted a file it didn't like the look of. I've also done a quick scan of the computer and all is in order. I'm pleased that my anti virus is doing what it should do, but it's a bit unsettling when this happens. I was on eBay when this happened, and a quick google suggests it might have been something to do with one of the adverts.
Anyway, I'll do a bit of work on next years planEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Absolutely agreed Goldie! It's a bit like walking past peoples houses with their lights on whilst it's dark outside - you can have a good old nosey :rotfl:2014 - £264k - 25 Years - MF March 2039

I always do that!:rotfl::rotfl:
I've already been out this morning. I had a 9 o'clock dentist appointment. Nothing to be done - she just cleaned my teeth. As it's NHS it cost £18.50. My little work health insurance covers this, so I'm going to fill in the claim form today, to make it's all done by the 18th.
The eBay buyer from the weekend paid, so I've posted that parcel.
I'm meeting my friend this afternoon when she finishes work, so for now I'll just carry on with things on my to do list, which was started last Monday.
Mr Goldie has been clearing out his desk at work, and has brought home a couple more technical drawing items, which I'll put on eBay after Christmas. But I'm having a break from it for now.Early retired - 18th December 2014
