The end that goes into the power block is a small kettle lead, so I'm guessing I could just replace it with another with an English plug?

Yup. When I travel to places with different plugs I just replace the UK lead with one with the appropriate foreign plug on it. It's surprising how many places use the same plug though.0 -

by power lead, I mean the lead from the wall to the power adaptor, just incase old adaptor is different power rating, check rating first if using complete unit.0 -
