Parking Ticket

I have been issued a parking ticket from a private company at college. However on the ticket they have stated the colour of my car is grey whereas all my official paper work (logbook etc) states my car is silver.

Does this error void my ticket?

My first Argument is that I do not own a grey car and no where is there any paperwork to say I do and
My second argument would be that if the agent can get the colour wrong then it's not a massive leap for him to note the registration number wrong also.

Do I have a leg to stand on or am I clutching at straws?

I emailed the parking company with supporting evidence of my appeal but they ignored it and have now passed to debt collectors and are threatening court action.

any help would be gratefully received.

No, that makes zero difference to your appeal.

You need to go back to the main parking board and read the sticky thread named "Newbies - Read this first". That tells you all you need to know about tackling the ticket and winning your appeals.

Thank you I will look that up.
But Really? Have I no right to appeal on those grounds?

No - you were there weren't you? They've got your reg number and if you're getting post they've obviously got the correct person's details from the DVLA so why would the colour of the car matter?

How could it? Do you really think that these companies let any facts get in the way of ripping you off!

Stop taking these jokers seriously and get yourself into the Newbies Sticky - linked below to see how to properly see them off! :D

  • What happened on the day, or things such as the colour of the car are largely irrelevant.

What the appeal will focus on is the Private Parking Company's perversion of contract law.

I have a suspicion that the Private Parking Companies are making deliberate 'errors' on the tickets to encourage motorists to focus on these irrelevant errors rather than the very shaky foundations upon which the whole ticketing scam is built in the first place.

As noted above, the stickies at the top of the board will set out the well tested route to a sucessful appeal.

  • Is my next move to send "THE FIRST APPEAL TO THE PPC" letter then?

Okay you've appealed to them, and they've ignored that appeal. Tell us the name of this company?

by emailing/writing to them , you have saved them £2.50 in DVLA fees , A common ploy stating wrong colour !

also check that the company is registered with BPA , as without being a member they cannot (legally) get your details

as above , please state the company?

Well they are in the aos, so by ignoring the appeal to them they are in breach of the bpa code of practice. A complaint to the dvla and bpa is in order. Take a screenshot of your email and attach it to the email complaint, scan in your debt collector letter as well.

All details of how to make complaints are in post #6 of the sticky thread by coupon mad. Which debt collectors is it? And a couple of other questions.

    What date of parking?
When did you get the notice to keeper?
When did the debt collectors write to you?

    Thanks
