Yeah thats the thing putting me off is the thought of the suspension failing 6 months down the line.
Bulletproof. The only thing failing are the drop links (£15 each, 20 minutes to replace).

I know I posted earlier on about the tax amount putting me off. However, I hadn't really looked into the actual car & how it performs, quite remarkable I must say...

I remember seeing one at our local MOT station & I remember saying I thought it was a little 'unsightly', however, I would love to have a drive..... Still wouldn't want to own one though...

I'm sure being a passenger would be a dream, as long as you didn't get sea sick _pale_

£4,500 sounds a lot of money for that to me, especially looking at the glasses guide valuations.

There is a reason they are rare I suspect! There are much better options like the Ford Mondeo.

If you could get one for <£1k, then it would be worth it, as WHEN it goes wrong, you could just break it or scrap it and you haven't lost a lot, but at £4,500, if your only reason for changing is "need a bigger car", almost anything else would be a better option!

    So what does Glasses reckon?

Because I'm seeing a total of nine on Autotrader, and the cheapest is a grand more than this one.

The 2.7 diesel engine was fitted to Disco 3, Range Rover and Jag XF and older XJ

    Very nice engine.

Later 3.0d is also a peach and is a development of the old 2.7

Indeed - unfortunately, they only sold a handful here, around 20 or so.

Assuming a standard 2.2HDI model (with 70k on rather than 90), glasses says the value is £3k for private poor condition and £3,600 odd for private good condition, so Somewhere between the 2 would be reasonable.

If the OP gives us the exact spec and engine, then we can get a more accurate value.

Almost certainly a 2.7HDi, either Lignage or Exclusive - which is what the vast majority sold were.

Gorgeous big cars - do NOT compare to Ford Mondeos! I remember Tiff Needel on Fifth Gear doing some getaway driving with a flat tyre! I had a BX a long time ago so I can't speak for the electronics, but the hydropneumatic suspension is just as reliable as the springs in any other car. Replace oil, change spheres the odd time. I changed the spheres on my car, it can't be that hard! No spring compressor required...
