    Hello Everyone,

Thank you for all your replies, sorry its taken a while to get back online.

I only normally put up on my own post on here if I've already done a search and can't find what I'm looking for, I did do a search but perhaps didn't put in the right word combination (as it didn't reveal anything - hence this post).

Since I posted the above, I have 'phoned Santander themselves with my Query and they said YES it IS possible to load money onto to their Credit Cards (either yourself or anyone). However they did state you get NO interest (just in case anyone is interested in that aspect!).

I was looking at various options & that was a possible one I was considering/exploring but I am not going to pursue that avenue now.

Thanks everyone for your input. :b

Blinx - I hope you do not rely entirely on that credit card - Get them to confirm it in writing or take other cards just in case.

Typical Santander Customer Service team. They even do not know their own product. Here is the quotation form the copy of my Santander Zero T&C that I have I have got.

"5.7]You should not make payments that place the Account in credit. If you do, we may still restrict the use of the Card and the Account to the amount of your credit limit."

So draw your own conclusion what their customer service were telling was right or not.

But having said that Over pay my Santander Zero CC about four year ago about £300 and still fine.

Just prepare the second credit card, so if your card was blocked you still have another mean to pay the stuff you buy.

Yes I agree it is hard to tell if what they are telling you is right, as ALSO when I was on the line I decided to enquire as to how many months of my 0% balance transfer period was left and they informed me another year, I thought it didnt sound right and as it happened they put me through to someone else (without telling me first, so I had to start again!) -- anyway being a 'belt & braces' sort of person I thought, as it was a different person, I'd enquire again, as I was pretty sure I didn't have that amount of time left/another year and I was right to query it again as it turned out I had 4 months left NOT 12. So just as well I queried it twice with 2 different staff. Otherwise I'd have come off the phone with the WRONG information they'd given me (which could have got me into financial bother as I was also using this in my assessment of whether I would proceed with having monies paid onto it).

I must admit I dont normally have much dealings with them but, now that you mention it, the few occasions I have, they have been pretty inconsistent.

The credit card I have is the one that is linked to my Santander 123 account (with 17 months 0% balance transfers).

I just wondered if you can have anything paid on it, they say you can (they even gave me a (generic) Sort Code & Account Number should I want to have anything paid onto it).... however I am not going to do that, it would not be financially prudent, esp if they don't pay US interest!!
  • Yes, but most banks doesn't want it. I think its because some credit card holders abuse this feature sometimes.
