Sent back upgraded phone
Hey guys,
Just looking for a bit of advice really. I was with Orange and decided to upgrade my phone since my contract is up shortly. I phoned them, selected an iphone on an EE plan.
I received the phone on Monday 31/3/14 . I honestly didn't like IOS7 or the screen size, so phoned up to ask if under the 14 day return policy I could send it back. They said that was fine and send me a grey bag in which to post the phone back to them. They also told me it would take 48 hours to go back to Orange so I could upgrade again, so I would be without any connection to the network.
The phone was received on the 4/4/14 under tracked delivery. I phoned EE on the house phone to confirm they had received the phone and was advised to wait 48 hours to go back to Orange ( all this time I had no signal, so was not able to receive or send texts/ calls).
Okay, so I waited until Sunday 48 hours after the phone conversation and was told to keep the phone on, they would rectify the situation within 1 hour. 7 hours later, I phoned again only to be told that it would take 7-10 days now to put me back on Orange, before I can upgrade. So in total I could be without a connection/signal for 17 days!!
Not sure what to do, they are obviously billing me for the period that I literally cannot use my old phone. I'm just wondering if any one else has been in this predicament or any suggestions any one has?
