I have to laugh at the way you try come across as if im some kind of financial pirate fraudster, 'dictating conditions' '..would do everything you want to get money back' think its slightly less severe than that ...
I only want them to send communication where i can receive it and not have them send it to an empty property - that is not so bad.0 -
Well they can either send letters to an address they have been informed i am no longer at, or use the direct contact details i provided to continue the discussion - it would seem a pretty stupid to choose the former.
Why, they can just pursue you through the courts later, as they now seem to be doing.
Banks are not about to change their procedures because one person chose to be awkward. They certainly didn't choose not to do so out of spite, or to ake matters difficult for you, they simply do not, as a rule, use email or phone for this sort of thing.0 -
Unlike you, I am just trying to put myself in their shoes.
What if they don't want to continue the discussion because they don't see any point? What if they think that you are just wasting their time because if you really want to discuss something you can simply phone them?0 -
mrcbf, why don't you use the energy you are displaying here to make a deal with the debt collectors , before your life gets further ruined with a CCJ?
Arguing with people on an Internet forum won't help you one iota.
Getting sympathy from people on an Internet forum won't be any different (though you are not likely to get sympathy on here).
Getting tips on how you could wiggle your way out of the debt that you said you are happy (are you really?) to pay back on an Internet forum isn't going to happen. The debt collectors and the Courts have heard it all before.0 -
a quote form one of my letters
"I will actually be vacating the premises of ***** on 26/09/08, so please can you update your records to this effect, any further letters sent to this address will not be received, I will not accept responsibility if you fail to read this or ignore it when I have clearly informed you of this. "
"This letter has been sent by signed for post so proof of delivery will be taken as proof that this information has been taken into account"
This sounds exactly like the sort of letter you would send if you intend to try and hide and escape your debts. The section I have highlighted clearly suggests that you expected it to be difficult for the bank to contact you in future. It seems like you've gone out of your way to ensure this.
Also, sending letters by recorded delivery proves nothing other than you sent them a letter. It doesn't prove what was in the letter. The recipient doesn't get chance to read it before they sign for it. How can you actually prove that you sent them a letter with your contact details? For all we know your recorded delivery letter might have been an empty envelope.0
