TV from Richer Sounds ... would you buy

My son wants a new TV and has found one he fancies from Richer Sounds.

Here's the one he likes .

We have never bought anything from Richer Sounds, having always used John Lewis. They even sell this same TV on the JL website, but it is actually about £20 more.

Both stores offer a 5 year guarantee.

We have never had a problem with JL on the rare occasion that something has broken, but how do Richer Sounds compare please.

If it hadn't been an online only deal, he could have used JL's famous "never knowingly undersold' catchphrase. They would probably have matched the RS price.

Any help would be appreciated, either on the shop or on the TV

I've bought a few things from them over the years. One was an amp which had endless problems. The staff were endlessly helpful at sending it for repair. It ended up it worked in their tests, just not when plugged into my sky box. I would recommend them.

It's over 20 years since someone told me how good Richer Sounds were (in his opinion) for hi-fi separates ... and last year I bought Marley's surround sound system from them. The company has grown in size since those early days!!

Do I rate them as a store? Oh yes, they definitely know their stuff. Is their customer service as good as JL? Probably not, but that's why JL prices are generally higher. I've never had anything from Richer Sounds go wrong so I haven't had to find out.

I bought a surround sound system from Richer Sounds last year as my partner has used them in the past . I have never had such a pleasant time was treated brilliantly and even when busy they spend time with you and explain everything and you are not rushed at all. I also got the impression that people were happy to wait to be served, would highly recommend and their prices are very competitive, they certainly would be my first port of call whenever I need a tv etc.

They've been around for years, I'd recommend them, had a few tv's and hi-fi's with no problems
  • Can I ask for reccomendations for a smart tv on this thread?

I am wanting to buy a smart tv for the World Cup but are there things I should be aware of before I look?

    Brands? Features etc.

No, but feel free to start your own thread rather than hijack someone else's (or buy the same TV as the OP has selected).
