Hi DFW's,
Had a really crap day today with issues at both home and in work. Feeling very down today about everything today including the debt. Thank God its the weekend, I was never so glad to be at home on my own sofa away from the world. Will I ever be debt free I wonder?LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Hi DFW's,
Had a day at home today, but got all the laundry done and the house is clean & tidy. Yesterday & today have been NSD's and I still have the €40 in my budget for groceries. Payday is not until Friday so hoping to make the €40 stretch until then.
No further progress on the debt front and there won't be until Friday. I'm just so sick of the debt busting slog, of looking at credit card and loan totals, checking bank balances, penny pinching, I feel like it will never end. I've made a really good plan and can see an end in sight which is potentially not that far away but I feel like it will never come, why am I so impatient? Its just all been getting me down lately, where has my positive mental attitude gone? I know I've got this process so far but still feel like I'm failing. Aaaaahh need to snap out of this mood.

Thanks chevalier, I think you've hit the nail on the head, thats exactly what it is, January blues! I had a really good chat with a friend last night over a bottle of wine and I'm feeling a lot better today, I'm determined to get my positivity back, I have a plan and I know I'll get there, I guess I'm just impatient :ALBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Happy Monday DFW's,
I managed to have a NSD weekend, which is very unlike me. So I still have my €40 available for groceries, very surprised actually! YNAB is definitely helping, its making me question every spend and I'm competing with my budget. I'm almost 2 weeks into my trial now and I definitely intend subscribing. I did a few of the online classes at the weekend and have learnt a lot more, they are really good. I am going to try look at a few more of them over the next week so I really use the program to its full potential. I did the Aggressive Debt paydown class yesterday and it was really interesting, it gave me a few ideas of where I can cut back more temporarily until I get out of debt. I also set up some goals and some categories I had never even thought of so I am very enthusiastic to start saving for some of those when the debt is gone and hopefully get myself out of the paycheque to paycheque cycle. I want to buffer every category and keep away from credit.
I think concentrating on YNAB has given me some positivity back. Payday is this Friday so only 4 days to get through and then I can make more debt repayments which always cheers me up! I have €350 ear-marked for my debt repayments this fortnight and then will try to stick to budget after that, I may be able to pay a little bit more towards debt if all goes according to plan. If I can find another €73.70 to pay it would mean my debt total would be reduced by €13,500 overall, I like nice round figures LOL. I got this, onwards and downwards!!
Hope Monday treats you all well

Hi DFW's,
I had another NSD yesterday but not today, treated myself and DD to McDonalds this evening as I ended up bringing work home with me and was just trying to save time not cooking, well that's my excuse and I am sticking to it! So I made a dent in the €40 that was hanging round for the last few days but I shouldn't need to spend before payday so I am pretty proud of myself.
I did another YNAB class tonight as I had work laptop home with me and open anyway, I did the Breaking the Pay-cheque to Pay-cheque cycle, it was quite good, would love to be living off last months money or even last fortnights money, but will carry on debt-busting for now and worry about that goal in the future.
I see the Euromillions was won in Ireland this evening €88.5million, imagine!! It wasn't me unfortunately. So I will carry on waiting for payday on Friday

Happy Thursday DFW's,
Not much to report really, yesterday was an NSD. Tomorrow is payday, looking forward to getting the debt snowball back in action. I live for payday. I cant wait to get this debt gone and start saving. I have set up all these lovely categories in YNAB to save for various things but they are all empty at the moment, I'm very optimistic though that they wont be by the end of the year. Exciting times ahead!
Enjoy your day :jLBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Happy Friday DFW's,
I had a productive day in work today, got loads done, I'm really happy with that as I've been having a bit of a rubbish time there lately due to new systems. I am so glad its Friday and its payday, yay! I paid loan repayment today and I am just waiting on credit card statement to make the payment off the card, I dont want to pay it yet as I have made the Jan payment and would rather pay the Feb payment out of this fortnights wages. That way the minimum payment is covered and I can make additional payment next payday with no pressure. Signature updated, I never get sick of doing that :j
Still ynabing and have budgeted my wages out for all bills for the next fortnight so I'm happy enough and know exactly where I stand. I have €80 cash in my wallet which I took out today and will see how long that lasts me, have a few things I need to pay cash for in the next couple of days.
An old friend is calling round for a catch up this evening, she's due any minute so I better run and stick the kettle on.
Have a lovely Friday night all

Hi DFW's,
No NSD's for me lately, I did huge grocery shop on Sunday which hopefully should last us for the fortnight except for bread & milk. Then one of the hot taps in the bathroom broke on Sunday night where it wouldn't turn off! So had to get a plumber yesterday but thankfully it wasn't too expensive. And I filled car up with petrol yesterday morning as I am driving in my car pool this week. So its been a bit spendy since I got paid on Friday. I'm going to try to aim for NSD's for today and the rest of the week!
During my decluttering I found a money box my mam gave me a few years ago, its one of those crockery pots that you cant open, you have to smash it to open it. So I've started a small saving fund in there. I placed the pot on my TV unit so its in my line of vision to remind me to put money in! Its supposed to hold €1000 in €2 coins when full but I am putting in €2 and €1 so it will be less when full but still should hold a lot. Looking forward to breaking it open when full! I've also restarted my emergency fund which seems to be non-existent since late last year, I'm just going to put whatever I have left the day before payday each time and hopefully build it up like that.
I still haven't made my CC payment, statement should be available by Friday so will pay then. Still going with the YNAB, I'm still loving it, I have 13 days left in my trial and have budgeted €45 out of this payday to pay for the subscription. Its really a great program, its definitely keeping me focused on my budget, I really need the structure instead of looking at bank balance and spending anyway.
Hope you all have a nice Tuesday
