I'm so glad I found your diary, it is really inspirational!

I don't have many words of wisdom at this stage (I feel like a sponge, soaking up all the advice from the forum!) but I wanted to say well done on your debt reduction so far!
I need to do a big declutter. I have a day off tomorrow so I am planning to go through my wardrobe with a ruthless eye and list anything I didn't wear in 2016 on ebay. This weekend I am going to tackle the kitchen cupboards and see what is lurking at the back of them and what I can use up. (Here's hoping I've got the ingredients for chocolate brownies!)0 -

Thanks GC! I feel like I've come a long way but still have a long way to go, I know I could do it this year if I stick to the plan but I had the same story last year and I'm still here LOL. I hope your decluttering goes well, stay ruthless! (PS now I want chocolate brownies!)LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Hi DFW's,
Well I managed an NSD yesterday and hoping for another today. However, I am not feeling the best today and I never get sick, I think I have the start of a headcold, have to check what meds I have at home and see if I can avoid the chemist. DD was unwell yesterday and came home sick from school but seemed fine this morning and went into school on the bus.
Work is mental busy but I am getting loads done. Just having a sneaky peak at MSE during my lunch hour.
Happy Hump Day DFW's

Hi DFW's,
Roll on the weekend, its like groundhog day this week! Yesterday was an NSD, managed to avoid a trip to the chemist and used stuff we had at home already for headcolds. Both myself and DD are suffering at the moment so we can't wait for the weekend. Aiming for another NSD today.
I finally got an email that I was waiting on from a survey company to say they are sending €50 cheque out to me - happy days! I'll put that towards debt, I like the cash surveys rather than the voucher ones (although there doesn't seem to be too many of them around in Ireland). I should have the cheque in the next 2 weeks.
Just realised today that there is only 5 weeks to our yearly bonus in work, I really cant wait to pay that off debt and see a nice big chunk going off the debt. I'm still planning to use the full bonus on the loan to bring it down to €2k which I can then clear in full with the savings I have in shares tied to the loan (its a credit union loan). That would leave me with approx €4k of CC debt, I would be down to one debt that I can put my full snowball to and clear by June/July, that would be awesome.
I've been reading a few diaries this week where people have got to their DFD and they are so inspiring, I'd really love to join them this year, got to stick to my plan
YNAB is still going well, I think I have 11 days left on the trial. I'm definitely spending less since I started it, I think it would really help me stick to the plan to be debt free by middle of this year. So it would be well worth the €45 or so subscription fee. I sound like a broken record but it really is a great program.
Happy Thursday to you all!LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Monthly update on debt as we are into February now:
01 Jan - €9,092.38
01 Feb - €8,570.04
Not great progress in January but I am holding a further €150 back until I get CC statement so Feb should look better than it does.LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Happy Friday DFW's,
I just love Friday even though it is not payday! I can't wait until the working day is over and I get to chillax at home this evening.
Yesterday was another NSD, I must start keeping track of how many I have a fortnight though as I have no idea. I am still waiting on my credit card statement to make a payment, its due 4th of the month but I thought I would have it today as 4th is a Saturday but I just looked back at previous months and its always 4th even if its Saturday/Sunday. So hopefully I can transfer money online tomorrow, I'm just dying to make that payment to bring the debt payment total down and update my signature
I've been reading and subscribing to a few other diaries on here lately and have picked up a few new ideas and they are really keeping me motivated.
My plan this weekend is to declutter upstairs. Downstairs in my house is all fabulous and clutter free and I know where everyone is. But upstairs has been slowly building up, clothes are definitely our problem. I have a 5 door wardrobe in my room just for me, its full but then I also have baskets of clothes outside the wardrobe that never get put away. I literally live out of the clean laundry pile and ignore whats in my wardrobes. So I am going to be ruthless and get rid of loads of stuff. I want my room to be minimalist and calm and peaceful! I definitely have a few dresses that can go up on ebay but most of the stuff will be heading to local charity bin - the amount of clothes I don't wear is shameful! Also this probably explains a lot of my debt historically, I hardly buy clothes at all now but definitely guilty of hoarding clothes I don't wear, maybe I have too much storage space! Once I have my room done we can concentrate on DD's room, that's a whole other story, she has more trainers that any person I know! The bathroom & en-suite also need a declutter, loads of Christmas gift smellies need to be unboxed and used up. We definitely have enough shower gel for the year!
So weekend will consist of Spring cleaning from tomorrow morning, we are in Spring now after all
Hope you all have a lovely Friday :beer:LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Just updated YNAB during lunch-break and it's telling me my Age of Money is 7 days which is quite depressing
. But I guess that's correct as I am living on my wages from last Friday which was 7 days ago. I can't wait to be debt-free and then work on getting some savings behind me and away from living pay-cheque to pay-cheque. LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Oooh forgot some good news from yesterday! I shopped round for home insurance and managed to get a much lower quote from another insurance company, going from €365 to €285 for the year, delighted with that, it definitely pays to shop around :money:LBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34

Good morning DFW's,
Two NSD's in a row for Friday and yesterday. Today wont be an NSD though as have to get money out of bank for DD's bus and also petrol. I made the payment to CC this morning and have updated my debt total which now stands at €8420.04, signature all updated!
DD is gone to her dads for the weekend and my plan to declutter went out the window! I had a night in with a friend on Friday night, we had yummy home-made food, a few glasses of wine and watched the Celeb Big Brother final, we live the high life haha! Then yesterday I had a lie in, got up and had brunch. Then did all the laundry and cleaned the house, then watched tv. I never got on the declutter buzz that I had planned. I really should do that today but instead I am sitting here reading MSE and having tea & toasted bagel. I havent left the house since I finished work on Friday and I really need to get dressed and get to an ATM to get bus money & petrol, I'm so lazy!
Hope you all have a lovely SundayLBM Jan 2014: €21,746.34
