delay Santander>Nationwide

i have done transfers from Barclays>Halifax>Santander with no problems at all today, transfers appear immediately.

but have then done a transfer from Santander123 to NationwideFlexdirect....it's not showing 2 hours later.

anyone any idea why this should be so much slower?

Presume this isn't a first transfer to the FlexDirect account?

I've had payments held up before (albeit very rarely) at Santander, but they always appear a short while later at the destination account...and never as late as next working day.

Seem to remember that when this happens you're given a message on screen. Perhaps you missed it?

Sit tight and check again in a few hours.

it Is the first payment between those 2 accounts, yes YB.
but it seemed to go through straight away, and is certainly showing as debited from my Sant account..

They regularly (always?) hold up the first payment to a new recipient for so-called 'additional checks'. Don't think you'll have any (major) issues next month...just the possibility of the occasional 2-4 hour hold up I mentioned above.

they text me a code, which i entered, and it went through fine.
when would you expect the money to be available in my Nationwide account?

Later today, but worst case scenario by close of business Tuesday.

I never generally do the monthly money-go-round on a weekend, so can't help other than give you the guess I have above.

You've only sent a £1 test payment though, and saved the payee details for future use? Don't tell me you've done £1K as an initial payment!

thinking about it, i have found Santander>Co-op to take a while too....typical Santander to be the only slow link in the chain:doh:

what i want to be able to do, nowadays, is Barclays>Halifax>Halifax>Halifax>Halifax>Santander>Nationwide>Barclays. all in one day, ideally.

I transfered £2499 from Santander 123 to Flexdirect today and it transfered within minutes.
I did do a £1 test transfer yesterday when I upgraded to Flexdirect.

That problem is almost certainly down to Co-op (as I'm reminded now that I'm going for another £100 from them...it was the same when I went for the £200 offer too)...as I have the same when I send from Halifax.

I never do that...always, but always, make a £1 test payment first.
