No he means he was talking about you. Hence:

By the way Zandoni my qualifications are 10 GCSE's grade A to C, mostly A & B & also A levels in Maths, physics & geography. I earn most of my income through self employment as opposed to my retail work.

Again why are you asking what qualifications are needed to work in my shop? If you like questions then are you finally going to reveal what exactly it is you do?
You didn't make it to uni then.

I turned many uni offers of Maths & Physics offers down. I had my eyes on other ways of making money!

That accounts for 40 hours a week + being self employed for 11 years, do the maths if you can (or have the qualification ;)).

Also did you know large Supermarket managers can be on more than £100,000 a year? You're very ignorant tbh.

Don't worry your own business may pick up and you can do it full time, I must admit though it doesn't look promising.

Might be the way you react with your customers.

I don't have customers with my self employment.

    That's probably a good thing.

the op did say they repaired a gas appliance surely that's a big no no

It's not necessarily illegal to work on gas appliances if not gas safe registered.
You must be registered if the work is being done as part of a business or if the appliance is installed in any rental property but the registration requirement isn't a factor if working on your own equipment.

All that the relevant legislation states (The gas safety (installation and use) regulations) is that you can work on gas installations on a non business related matter if competent to do so. (Competency isn't defined in the regulations).

I'm not saying or implying that it would be sensible for anyone to consider doing this, simply that provided you could show that you were competent to do the work, you wouldn't be doing anything illegal.
