I am curious as to why you applied, just for a laugh ?
it is quite funny though :rotfl:
At the time I applied for a gold card, which they do. Its not so much a sub prime card, however they done the capital one trick and accepted me, but gave me a abacus card instead! at 39.9%!!!
I rang them and said no offence but Im not having this card..and asked them why it was that I was given this miseley credit allowance, yet my gf the higher one. They flapped about and gave me the old 'well everyone is scored on a number of things' I told them to stop talking b***cks (in a polite way) and said they obviously didnt accept me as I havnt paid any interest before
my gf still has one though, we put very little on the card each month (1 transaction) and pay off in full each month to build her credit history back up...INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j0 -

I have worked my way from the abacus card (which has a really "cool" design on the front of it - everyone used to ask about it), thru the blue, up to the gold card, which has a credit limit of (i think) 4.5k and an apr of 19.9%.
Weirdly, my barclaycard gold, which has a similar limit, and I have had for around 10 years, has just told me that its interest rate has gone up to 16.9%.
The line between the adverse and mainstream seems to become a little bit more blurry. I dont carry any balances thank god, but there isnt a great deal in it anymore.0
