Backing Up your Hard Disk to Yahoo

One of the members here (diamonds) kindly informed us in another thread that it is possible to use yahoo to make a copy of your hard disk. Some thing to do with the unlimited storage they now offer for email I think?
Not knowing how to do this I PM'd him to ask him how but his inbox is full.
Does anyone use this method or is there anyone that can advise me on how this is done?
Thanks.

It's uploaded to their servers.
Personally, I'd not bother. It can take several days to do this with an upload speed at typical UK broadband rates.0 -

The used space on my hard disk is only 13GB and that includes everything (Operating Sys. uitlities and drives etc).
You did n't tell me how it's done, so not really a helpful reply.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}

Which part of "It's uploaded to their servers." are you too thick to understand?
How do you think it gets there? By carrier pidgeon?
Is there any need for that? I suggest VERY strongly you take notice of the Forum Etiquette box on the right of your screen! If you can't be respectful then don't post at all."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Replying in kind. Told me my post wasn't helpful when it said exactly what it did.
Whatever.
You certainly weren't replying in kind and I didn't see anything useful in your post either. There's a big difference between saying that a post isn't useful and making a personal comment/attack on a poster. The OP was asking how to do it and your post didn't answer the OP's question at all."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Conor I have reported you to abuse. I cannot believe your reply. I have found it truely offensive and feel that those sorts of comments are neither justifed, required, necessary or acceptable on a public forum where individuals post questions for help.
I sincerely hope that if you are a techie that you are not in deskside support as I used to be. It is people like you that prevent others from asking questions in the technical arena and helping them progress.
Or is knowledge power to you? Because if it is then I suggest you go somewhere else where your ego can be uplifted when you so rudely reply to someone.
I could go on but really I am not going to waste anymore of my bandwidth or time on you.

As for getting back on topic, I couldn't find any method of using yahoo email as online storage, I'm sure it's possible but it appears to be against the terms and conditions and Yahoo actively look for that activity on their servers."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thanks for the support supescaper and Elliesmum.
I certainly didn't expect such a disgraceful attitude as that from an MSEr. There's alway a first time I suppose.
superscaper, I certainly don't want to contravene the T&C. A part from me not being that way inclined I wouldn't want to jeopordise losing my yahoo account.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}

Conor's deleted post may have been out of order, but his intial advice was sound. Online backups are not really a good option for several reasons not least the one he posted, i.e. the amount of time taken to upload your HD.
Having said all that, there are plenty of options for people who do wish to pursue that route. All you have to do is ask Google

Just "google" and the solution to everything is there.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}
