Do Mbna and others charge vary BT fees among their customers?

Well I thought it was only me having to pay a higher BT fee. Makes me feel better I am not alone.0

My MBNA card, currently has a 0% offer on balance and money transfers, it's a 3.5% fee for balance & 4% fee for money.
I was switched from Virgin to MBNA late last year, since then every month there has been an offer on 0% BT's and MT's.
The first money transfer offer was for 15 months IIRC (certainly more than 12 months) with a 4% fee and I know all the other money transfers have been 4% over 12 months, as I have done two this year.
Not sure about the balance transfers as I don't have any other credit card transfers to make, so never take much notice.
Even though you can get lower balance transfers elsewhere, I've never had any of my other cards (7 or 8 in the past 10 years) offer me a money transfer at all, let alone at 0% with a lower fee.0 -
I don't like these American operators taking over the market. Having said that, I do have four of their cards myself.
I remember MBNA entering the UK market. It shook things up for the better. All sorts of innovations and their standard APRs were much lower too. Before then, CCs were pretty much only issued by the main banks. As I recall, Barclaycard had even introduced an annual fee.0 -
I have about 4 Barclaycards and all the offers now show 6.9% for life and a bt fee of 2.9%. Before that the various cards had different offers and one going up to January 2016.
I did phone BC and advised the previous offers were still available up until 7 May.
Perhaps the change is to do with their internal scoring.
Made a complaint and they gave back with new offers on all four cards including 12 months to my bank account at 1.90 fee and 0% rate.0 -

Just checked and have received an email from MBNA advising I have a 12 offer available but they have now decreased the fee to 3.5 and 4.0 percent to my bank account.

To say thank you for being a valued customer and as part of our ongoing service to you, we are delighted to inform you that you have a new rate for balance transfers and money transfers until your May 2015 statement date.[01]
Made between 1 May 2014
and 30 June 2014 at:
0% p.a.
Until your May 2015
statement date[01] Made between 1 May 2014
and 30 June 2014 at:
0% p.a.
Until your May 2015
statement date[01]
A handling fee of 3.5% (min £3.00) will be applied to all balance transfers made before 30 June 2014 and a handling fee of 4% (min £3.00) will be applied to all money transfers made before 30 June 2014.
Remember, you can only enjoy interest free on card purchases if you pay the full statement balance each month, which would include paying off any transferred amounts. So if you take advantage of this offer but only pay off the card purchases, you'll pay interest on those purchases.

i explained to them I had 4 cards and all showing the same promo rate of 6.9% and explained this was no good for me. They then must have reviewed all my accounts and have now come up with some excellent offers.
You can complain about the price of something?
I'll have to try that next time I pop down the supermarket. Who knows, they too might offer some excellent deals as a result

Same here Mable! The only problem now is that I have a few hundred owing on the MBNA card so will transfer elsewhere?0
