Halifax not sent update to Experian

Hi
my Experian report shows that Halifax has not provided an update to Experian since 9/2/14. Since that time I have paid off the card in full and reduced the credit limit significantly. My report however still shows me with a high level of borrowing which has led to me being turned down for a card for the first time in my life. Is there any way I can prod Halifax into sending an update?

A lot of creditors take a while in reporting to the CRAs - my credit card entry on all three reports is still showing the balance it was around 2-3 months ago. You can try giving Halifax a call and explaining the situation to them and ask them to do a "rapid update" to the CRA, but this is usually reserved for correcting serious mistakes and isn't something lenders generally do. (See http://www.experian.co.uk/about-us/dispatches-response.html for more details.) It may unfortunately just be a case of having to wait for the report to catch up.0 -

Hi! I have this problem too! It seems to be my Halifax & Bank of Scotland Credit Cards that havent been updates since 9th Feb! Both of which have been clear since the middle of March! I have never waited this long for it to be updates before0 -
Same here - by BOS card has not been updated since February 2014 - I am sure it will happen.
Do you actually know that is the reason you were turned down for a new card?0 -
The same for me too. Also not sent to equifax.
Why is it lenders can be late updating important information but as a consumer if you are late making a payment, you are severely penalised for six years ?!0 -
I'm also waiting on an Experian update for my credit card.
I am aware that Halifax have supplied Experian with their updates on April 2nd however. Usually, it takes 4 to 5 days for Experian to check the information before loading it onto the persons report, so they say.
Therefore, the updates should be there from midnight tonight or the following day at the latest so just keep an eye on your accounts guys.0 -
4 or 5 days doesn't include weekends I don't think.
I had this situation and asked why it takes 4 or 5 days and they said they need to do further checks. Quite what checks they need to do I don't know. All sounds like excuses to me for incompetency.
As we are in a high tech electronic age, I don't understand why all this reporting takes so long.0 -
My Halifax entry says updated till 9th March so I assume it will be updated shortly.
Bit confused why some people have updated to 9th February, sounds like Halifax have only partially updated there customer base. All that glitters is not gold.0 -
Mine is only updated till 9th February0

Has anyone had their updates from Experian yet? Reason I ask is mine disappeared from my file today!
I rang Experian and I was told that they are doing "project work" for Halifax at the moment and some peoples Halifax Credit Card accounts have been taken off their reports whilst this is carried out and should re-appear in the next day or two.
This happened to anyone else?0 -
Mine updated today as of 9th March. Be interesting to see what happens in next couple of days.0
