Much as we all poke fun at SP for his naivety, behind the scenes though he does have valid concerns. Many of our younger people have no idea of what is appropriate to wear to a job interview. Is this a skill taught at school/uni? No doubt SP will be back in another thread asking for interview advice. I volunteer to go first with a pre-emptive strike. SP pay attention! you are being interviewed for a public sector job. The interview panel will ask questions that are directly related to the person spec, no trick questions and every interview candidate gets asked the same questions. First impressions count. Check out the interview location before the day, make sure that you can get there in good time by doing a test drive or by public transport. Look smart, arrive in good time at least 15mins before your interview slot. The interview panel will expect you to be nervous, but will also expect you to grow in confidence throughout the interview. Lastly don't be disappointed if you don't get the job. Not many people get the first job the apply for. At worst use this occasion as a learning opportunity.

My question A use to worry me a lot - I once did a job doing telesales (I actually thought it was a great job as I learned loads about land surveying)
I use to drink a lot of water as I spent all day on the phone, consequentially, i went to the toilet really frequently! It use to worry me that the managers would notice and think it was odd
BTW, we had classes at school (bog standard comprehensive) about interview techniques, what to wear, how to present yourself back in 1996 - it can't be that unusual to get taught these things at school0 -

I can't wait to see your threads when you do eventually get a job.. here's some i hope to see:
a) Going to the toilet at work - how often is too often?
b) Xmas party - what colour underpants to wear
c) What sandwiches should i take to work
I would go to the toilet when I need it
I might not even want to go to the xmas party
I don't like sandwiches.:beer:0 -
