Flex excesses and Comp may come below TPFT - dont go to silly excesses otherwise your into specialist provider territory and the lack of competition allows higher premiums.


TPO in particular, TPFT too but its less obvious, suffers from the fact that those with terrible histories buy it and so push up the prices. Less insurers write it so less competition to push down prices. The customers are generally less desirable and so people wont slash premiums to attract them.

Its not uncommon for Comp to be the cheapest with TPFT second and TPO the most expensive even if that the reverse of the level of cover you get.
