You used it, dude, you pay for it. Why should the rest of us pay for people who can't be bothered to pay attention to the bill? Who is this magic Fairness Fairy of whom you speak? What's her number?

Appreciated that the flatmate had something to do with it, but they scarpered. If you can run out on a debt, great. If you've co-signed on it, you've taken ownership.

You can always try living life not borrowing money off people and/or doing without power.
more for the sake of my dependents than for me, is for them to acknowledge their part in not warning me (esp as they now claim to have warned me and given an incorrect address) and lets just have an easy life - they remove my mark, I put the lot on a credit cards, suffer for a bit until I get it paid down
How the hell do you use £2000 of power without noticing? I mean, just do do you do that? Why are your dependents Eon's other customer's problems? Did we have the fun making it all happen? It's the old responsibility word again...

In short, man up and grow a pair. You incurred the debt, now pay it up or run out on it. Either way, accept responsibility for your actions.

Is it next to sanctimonious in the telephone directory? and did I say I wasn't going to pay it ? no? did I say you were going to have to pay it no?

do you think I'm some kind of benefits claimant? probably yes - as this is apparently your problem?

no you don't, you just said that so you could continue your tirade which is a mixture of ill informed nonsense at worse and sanctimonious pious holier than thou mouth before facts at best

yes that's right, I could be like you couldn't I, this muppet who comes on forums to berate others without actually having read any of the posts before launching into the familiar "how dare you , we're paying for you , you're a tax dodger type speech,

assuming you have a job, manual is it, because your education clearly didn't get as far as reading, when did I say I wouldn't pay this? when did I say it was your problem?

IF I came up with as £200 as fast as you came up with your tired old BS I'd have the bill paid three times over by now..

so now its about my balls as well as you paying for me because I won't pay a bill that I've said I will pay

Jeez, what a hateful individual ! This thread stopped being about any questions I had long ago and now it's just attracting the sanctimonious and the abusive

I agree. Can't you grow up a bit, and let it lie?

What a great shame for the forum. It's generally a friendly, helpful place, it's sad when it gets like this.
If you want proper advice, please consult a legal professional. I am not one! Thanks.

I think you are losing this argument, because most benefit claimants couldn't afford to rack up £2k of debt to a fuel company, and it's fairly daft of you to rant about 'ill informed and sanctimonious" when you are being exactly the same by generalising everyone on benefits as wasters!

If you have taken this attitude with EON, no wonder they have been stroppy with you, perhaps try being reasonable next time you are in debt to someone and want time to pay them.

Honey works better than vinegar some of the time.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

As I read the OP, I don't see any attitude - he is asking for advice, but some people here have slated him instead and he retaliated.

Maybe it would be better to just close this thread and the OP can ask elsewhere.

Shame you didn't see his reply to one of my posts. The forum team removed it as it included abuse aimed at me personally. Don't know who reported it, it wasn't me.

for the most of it I agree here

I've learned a couple of things about this forum, if you expose a vulnerability of any sort then you do get the sanctimonious and abusive vulture types licking their lips and like moths to a flame ready with their holier than thou jumped up advice which isn't really advice at all, it's a means to feel better about themselves via means of attempting to place themselves above their intended victim, this time, me, next time, someone else who has had a bit of bad luck , and to be honest, that's a lesson learned I'll never ask for this kind of advice again

as for the bill, I did a one off IT programming contract last week and paid it in full, again, my life, my business, not one taken on the yay say or nay say of any of those nasty finger pointing types in this thread, but because it was my decision I wanted to. none of their business start to finish whether the balance is 2k, or 0k. My life, my decision.

I think the forums like anything else in life attract all sorts of people, of which these types make up a hefty sub section

my advice to anyone asking for advice........ don't ask for advice! :)

    all the best
    Andy
