My only issue now is finding a 2nd direct debit for my Halifax account. I already have one for my gym membership but Im unsure what I can use for my 2nd one. I was thinking about paying my parents tv license and have them pay me? Any problems with this?
    thanks.

I use one to move £5 per month into my Egg (YBS) savings account. It could be any amount and there are other accounts exactly the same.

I need a direct debit as standing orders don't count for me to get the £5 a month interest.

jimjames is talking about DDs, though you probably can't do exactly the same as he did since you would need an ex-Egg account for it.

However, that is just one of several dozen options for small DDs. I find it a bit hard to believe that you have still not sorted yourself with a couple.

can you please tell me how I can set up the smallest DD possible? it needs to be a direct debit and not a standing order so I can qualify for my £5 a month interest from Halifax.

    thanks

People have already told you how to do it, why do you keep ignoring it? Plus there is an entire thread about DDs into savings accounts, and plenty of other threads that talk about it. Do you ever read any threads other than your own? You should. You can learn a lot from them.

The idea of using a direct debit to another bank account sounds great but I didn't think it was possible?

Can I use a DD from my halifax to my TSB account if thats the case then?

PayPal is not the best to use if you need a DD which actually pays out every month (rather than just being active/set up)

The info on how to use Paypal is however, in innovate's thread on DDs - I know, because I wrote some of it :)

I suggest you read post #31 and do what I said there, ie open a Tesco account.
