I have just received my holiday - weekend in November at St. Margarets Holiday Park in Kent, it has come with an additional cost of £35.50, made up of:
Park facility passes £12.00
Linen Charge £10.00
Service charge £13.50
Do we have to pay for the passes, we are unlikey to need to use any of the facilities, just hubby and I going and intend to use just as a base for touring ?
no,if you wont use them you dont have to purchase them0 -

I got my first choice dates - which was good - but only my 5th choice park. And there the problems start.
It's in South of France - and cannot believe how much airport transfers are from the nearest airport. On top of that, for the dates we are booked for, Easy***'s prices are very pricey (for them anyway!) - but alas - these are obstacles to be overcome!
But what has astonished and surprised me are the extra charges imposed by the park:
£15 insurance to cover "accidental damage to your accomodation"
Then, you will be required to hand over a £50 cash deposit to park which will cover for any cleaning costs required when you leave - someone will check when you leave (assuming they are available I guess!!!) - and then you might get your £50 back.
As well as all the usual stuff that is expected: ents passes (£15), Linen charge (£14), Welcome pack (£6)
My £9.50 holiday is turning into a £950 holiday.
Is it worth challenging the Sun to either get my money back or get changed to a more suitable park (my first choice park was in Spain - 6 miles away from a Ryanair served airport, 2nd 3rd and 4th choices were all in UK) - since unless I missed it in the small print, I was totally unaware of these "insurance costs" or the need to provide a "£50 deposit".
We have holidayed in france on the sun holidays twice now.
we always pay the £15 insurance waiver ,but neither time have we had to pay the £50 cleaning deposit.
we just leave and drop the keys to reception as requested.
we dont bother with welcome pack or linen, although with yourselves as you are flying, prob a pain to pack sheets / pillowcases etc !
unfortunately once booked you cannot cancel / change parks or dates im afraid
thats why you need to be sure when you put the parks / dates down that you can go, else you lose your £38 (or more) if you decide not to go .0 -
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has received the Stenaline discount code with their booking confimation. We are travelling from Northern Ireland to Butlins in Minehead in October with the £9.50 promotion, but they didn't send us the ferry details with our confirmation. According to The Sun we should be able to travel from Dublin to Holyhead for £129. Any help would be really appreciated.0

Not til the end of October, which is why I am so annoyed! ( A Park Resort).I know it may not sound like a lot of money to some, and I know it still works out as a comparatively cheap holiday / weekend away, but I have already forked out nearly 40 quid for the booking, outside of my normal budget, so another £38 immediately this month is a bit pants. Still, tis not the end of my world, I shan't get my knickers in too much of a twist.0 -
This is my first time applying for a £9.50 holiday - I sent off the booking form and cheque the day I collected token 7 and today I checked my bank account and the cheque has cleared from my account. I'm assuming i've been successful for one of my choices. However, does anyone know how much you generally pay by meter at the parks for gas/electricity? I think I only chose parks where you pay by meter as opposed to a service charge - was it better for me to do this? Will it work out cheaper?
Also, I think I chose only parks with free club passes so am I right in thinking that they won't ask me for extra payment to use certain facilities?
Sorry for all the questions.0 -

Sorry for all the questions.
I stayed at Wall Park , Brixham last year and a £3 electric token lasted from Friday to Monday , didn't spend all our time in the apartment but did use the cooker , shower, heater and TV quite a lot.
Wall park was offering free club passes and the only thing I was asked to pay for on top of the initial £38 was for bedding but we opted out of that and took sleeping bags.0 -
Hi everyone hope someone can help me. posted off for our sun holiday what seems like ages ago. This morning the post brought the policy summary for the insurance, still no sign of the holiday details though:eek: do they usually come first.
Thing is the address was wrong on the envelope ie it says 5s instead of 55there isn't a 5s anyway but this could obviously be a problem (could someone at No 5 be getting a FREE HOLIDAY?) .
What do I do does anyone have a contact No for the Sun hols I cant find one. Thanks in advance.Booo!!!0 -
Speak to the people at number 5 ask if they have received it by mistake.0

Hi
The number for making a reservation by telephone to the UK Holidays in the Sun is 0870 1267 460. Sorry it's an '0870' number - can't find a geographical number for it.
Hope it helps!0
