No it is not a business to business transaction although I will be using it for business I have brought it personally with a personal card and no business details on the order so this avoids any B2B issues

Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but im under the impression that as you will be using it for business use - this is still a B2B transaction, regardless of how you pay for it.

I cant imagine you will be charged over £60 for someone to install the gas cooker for you.

You could possibly be right but they would never know what I am going to use it for. I would not be after suing them or anything anyway. Just wanted to know if there is any rights regarding this situation

JL use local independent installers to fit their products for them. My awkward neighbour had a hissy fit, when she bought a gas cooker from them. It arrived in the back of a rusty old transit, which was owned by the installer. She refused it, as it did not get delivered by one of their green liveried vans.
    Hyacinth Bucket springs to mind!

OP you shouldn't pay any more than the £60 anyway, that is on the higher side of installation anyway.

Just make sure that your gas fitter is accredited to install cookers, look on the back of his card, some aren't

It may affect any warranty work in future.

When looking online the general installation price seemed to be about £100 so I though £60 was good. My local gas fitter quoted around £60. It sounds like your neighbour had a cooker from their stock so they sent it with an installer. They have told be that the one I have ordered comes from the manufacture so it is delivered by them and there is no way they can get it installed. I find it surprising as it is a JL branded product

My local Euronics centre charges £45 to fit a gas cooker and take your old one away. They also use the same fitter as JL does, that is where I heard the other side of the story from ! lol

Do you know if they only fit their own products?

It's not as simple as just cancelling I am not in the position to cancel as I need to new oven for work as we own a B&B and it's already taken me 2 weeks to find this one.

I wanted them to fit for convenience I can get my gas fitter out so any cost above the original £60 I will argue JL should pay. I am hoping they may offer something extra as good will as they would not have got the order if they said they couldn't fit.
But you've already said you can get it from another retailer so why not cancel the JL order and place the order with the other lot?

The one I considered was a different model and I discounted them as they couldn't guarantee installation after a certain time only between 8am & 6pm
