Hi Soolin - no they are for different accounts. I've just been shaving the odd low star off here and there - where the culprit it obvious and feedback malicious (normally cos i refuse to be blackmailed now - eg lower price after sale, post same day, or spot a scammer - as i did last week and was proved right today getting a suspicious buyer email from Ebay ). I admit standing up to them has risks - but this is the first time i have asked for a removal on this account. I was jus getting to it though for my one low star. But this as priority now.

I did go 2 years with no low stars or bad feedback accross all my accounts - but i've had enough of bully buyers now - so open to more malicious

They spotted the item cheaper and was quite abrupt about how mine was a rip off. So no point even considering a discount when they talk to you like crap.

Im thinking of trying again - but does anyone know if the first rep - who was quite rude and arrogant in the end - cutting me off - will have left a note on the account giving him the final say. Or will other reps be able to change this?

Last time I phoned to get one removed, the rep was aware that I had already discussed it with someone else so there must have been a note on my account.

I had a buyer recently who claimed not to have received item. When I checked her feedback left for others there were a few negs and neutrals left. I refunded her as soon as case opened. I got a neutral and a 1* across all four categories. When I took it up with live chat as to how a buyer could legitimately leave 1* for item description when they claimed not to have received the item I was given a similar comment about buyers being able to leave whatever they felt as it was a negative experience for them. And yes I am worried about the defect now and there's nothing I can do about it.

  • This is just ridiculous - if a transaction is mutually cancelled surely the right to leave feedback should be removed!!!

To make it worse, in my experience cancelled transactions are usually the result of time-wasting buyers/would-be scammers anyway but the seller can't leave them bad feedback of course!!

So true - i've been saying it for a while - cancelled transaction should mean cancelled feedback facility. Its why i often refuse cancellations and go the NPB route - they cannot leave feedback. Of course, some buyers - like this one - pay and then immediately demand their money back. In such cases you are left with no choice - and they cannot get a NPB strike.

Anyway - i spoke to someone at my preferred time today - and despite getting cut off mid-converation via live chat (im tethering and connection is playing up) - the neg promptly disappeared as i was just starting another live chat going. "Remove what neg? You havent got any" lol. Whoops - sorry - someone's already removed it :o.

I was just worried yesterdays rep , who was quite abrupt - may have put a note on saying don't remove. Alls well that ends well - but it does wind you up.

And there was me hoping the neg had been accompanied by low stars - so i could put the same arguement across. Its common sense to most people.

Low stars in all categories is usually malicious anyway.

I would try again - you did all possible for the buyer. Point out the bad feedback she leaves regularly and say you have proof of posting - showing you posted in good time - and your being blamed for the mail being lost.

I got a low dispatch star removed by giving tracking - which showed it arrived early.

It is just so frustrating / exhausting / annoying have to appeal every time. I have managed to get all my unfair low stars removed, but if I hadn't fought, my accounts would all be facing potential problems.

And it's only going to get worse :(

Thanks for this. I might try another live chat session and hopefully may get a more helpful agent this time!!

I tend to phone rather than use live chat.

I used Live Chat for my car insurance once and the agent was giving me the wrong information as he was chatting to someone else at the same time so now I never use any Live Chats and would rather call.

One thing though, I called Ebay yesterday, got the automated service which says that rather than holding on you can hold your place in the queue by pressing 1 on the phone and someone will call back when it is your turn. As soon as I pressed 1 on the phone I got an agent straightaway.

I am not saying this is you - but when you become a big eBay seller with shoddy goods, you enjoy all the negatives which say "thanks" and "item never arrived" because they *mask* all the other feedback which says a particular item was cheap, tacky and didn't work.
